This isn’t a civil war—it’s a liberation movement. DC can keep its vibes and veneers. Texas is over here organizing material resurrection.
While they’re fine-tuning slogans, we’re building water lines, walking blocks, and flipping precincts with nothing but righteous rage and folding chairs.
Slotkin can keep her CIA vibes. Mamdani and the Texas crew are writing the new Book of Acts—and this time, the apostles have union cards.

I would imagine we will see Alison , the new chair, there...she couldn't make it to TCDP's own deportation rally...u know were actual citizens in need outnumbered TCDPer's 10 to 1....

"But according to journalist Oliver Milman, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) pushed for defunding weather forecasting in the days before part of his state suffered deadly flooding."
well i am at war-ish with TCDP and Alison's truthiness .According to what i could glean from FWST paywalled headline she promises to make TCDP a $1M party....in the 2 years she ran it before she took it from $200k to $200k
She said alot of other stuff in her candidates announcement but didn't ever say what she WOULD do her next at-bat.
What they all say, like a catechism, is " Precinct Chairs'.....well with the revenue of a 2 man lawn mowing company u don't get to fund alot of anything.

here is what a press release looks like Alison...u forgot to mention FLOODING in urs
Smith County Dems:
As floodwaters devastate parts of Central Texas, we hold close the families grieving, the homes destroyed, and the communities struggling to recover. This is a tragedy that demands more than thoughts and prayers, it demands leadership rooted in action, compassion, and equity.
In the richest country in the world, disasters like this shouldn’t be met with silence or partisanship. Texans deserve infrastructure that can withstand storms, a government that shows up before tragedy strikes, and leaders who value every life, not just those with power or wealth.

As we honor our values this July, we reflect on what true freedom means. Not just fireworks and flags, but justice, equality, and opportunity, for every American.
From History to Action: What July Teaches Us
July 2, 1964 - 61 years ago, Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. That bold action was a promise to protect equality and dismantle systemic racism. The work isn't finished, and it's on us to keep going.
Seneca Falls (1848) - A movement began when brave women demanded the right to vote and to be seen as equals. Today, that spirit lives on as we fight for reproductive rights, fair wages, and equal pay.
Mandela Day (July 18) - We remember that real freedom means challenging injustice in every form — whether it’s healthcare inequality, housing discrimination, or political corruption.
Day of the Cowboy (July 26) - Real Texas grit wasn’t just white cowboys on horses — it was also Black, Brown, Indigenous folks and working families who built this state through sweat and solidarity. We honor their legacy by continuing the fight for dignity and respect for every Texan.
Parents’ Day (July 27) - Texas ranks dead last in childcare support. While Republicans veto summer food programs and underfund working families, Democrats are pushing for paid leave, affordable childcare, and real help for parents.
Candidate Spotlight: Leaders Stepping Up
These are some voices rising to meet the moment, three candidates that have announced for U.S. Congress, Texas District 1
Thanks for the link. That was extremely educational. The more things change, the more they stay the same. I also remember when Texas was all Democratic Party. However, it was still a farmers/workers v. corporatism battle in the primaries. At least where I lived outside Austin, the populists mostly won. It was only when the Bushies and 'foreigners' from other states started gaining a toehold that the Republican Party came to the fore.
