I agree with you Michelle, David Hogg must be allowed to lead the Democratic Party into the next generation that’s willing to push back, so that the Party is able to improve. It upsets me when the older Party leaders take a knife to a gun fight. The Party has done that for too many years. All my favorites are all under 50 (maybe younger). It reminds me of the teachers that didn’t understand they are not irreplaceable. We are all replaceable. I love to be replaced. I’m working on procedures of the PRTC. So someone with more energy can take over. 65 years is too old to retire. I retired and left teaching at 51. It’s a young person’s job. It takes a lot of energy. I don’t see how a 60+ can do what it takes to be a Party Leader at the state or federal level.

I just turned 72 last Monday, so I would love to retire from politics, but I don’t have anyone ro replace me as precinct chair and few people to share my Harris County knowledge with— I agree with David Hogg & was nauseated listening to University of Houston poli sci professionals discussing that the Dems need Henry Cuellar. No! I agree with David Hogg we need young leaders who will fight. Of course Bernie is older than I am , but he fights!

And people with seniority who fight are worth keeping!

It isn't about age, it's about standing against fascism. Like Congressman Al Green. He ain't no spring chicken, but he's one of the strongest fighters we have.

Michelle please be frank with me. Considering that consultant are now being involved are the Texas democrats still gonna be leaning to consultants like these ._. This is the main reason why kendall was wanted to prevent this.

No. Not at all. I know exactly who this is, and I would say that the grassroots is well-aware and not on board. Since this comes from my county, I can't say more right now. But I will later.

And black dems can win statewide i would be cautious with that statement but it aint coporate dems or republican-lite dems that can win. Allred litrally demobilized the central base of progressive voters and was expecting to gain more “moderate” and republican voters to compensate for that which it didnt.

its a loaded discussion that's why i deleted it...but there is no evidence in the all last elections a black person can win statewide.....if its for the reason that they don't campaign well then one can say that describes allred to the T.......he never once visited FTW and only once visited the suburbs....compare to Beto who had an office in Central FTW and yard signs everywhwere....but i suspect its demographics that will prevent Allred from a win

i was wracking my brain.....who ran for govenor?......Beto's wasn't it? I can't remember

these guys run and run and run till they run out of gas or runway or simply give up in infamy......alred already is a has-been, beto was a has-been after sentate loss

the only guy i have seen who can bring some energy is guittierz...maybe losing in primary leaves you open for a shot at the big game..in voter's minds....

alred's a retread and shows how bad our TDP is.........until they bring in some Dallas or Austin insurance magante or hedge-funder to run some vanity campaign and doubly prove how inept they are..... that will prove it once and for all...live by the political consultant class...die by the political consultant classs

so here is the challenge for leaders who want to lead:

We need a candidate who will draw the 1000's of Hispanics who didn't attend 50501 in FTW and to a lesser extent but just as important , the under 25's who didn't show up either

and please allow me to say this if no one else will......Scudder's first statewide interaction with voters was to hold a Zoom meeting during 50501's very successful event.........not the next day or the next week but DURING the event

it tells me he didn't want to play 2nd fiddle ...in this case to a group who has been far more successful in 1 month than 40 years of TDP

we spent 20 years thinking demographics was destiny, and when that day arrived, we don't have one candidate that appeals to Hispanics

For a hot minute it looked like TCDP was moving fwd when suddenly Crystal re-emerged....claiming to be doing things that others are doing or things that aren't being done at all...........so what will not happen in FTW in all of the upcoming politcal season is recruitment and support for qualitiy candidates.....my last 2 congressional candidates had 15cents to run in 2020 and 2024. my SS quit minutes before the primary and my SR didn't even have a phone #. So once again i will have not candidates representing me and mine while everybody in the party argues whether pct chairs get any help what-so-ever from TCDP. TCDP insiders say they do while much more important and interestingly pct chairs say they don't . So with the amazing disappearing Chair reappearing it seems the we are back to where we were 2 months ago.....with less hope.

as to the young...as always hope over reality......the head count for 'young' people Saturday was under 20%. it was as u expect a bunch of geezers and near geezers and their grand kids...no gen hipsters

and few Hispanics and blacks....
