Thank you for your hard work. 🙏🏼 I am not only praying but working hard that Texas gets precinct chairs in as many places in Texas as possible. 🙏🏼 It will take all of us.

My ancestors were in Gillespie County, one of the few places in Texas that voted overwhelmingly against secession. For that loyalty to the Union, they were hunted down like dogs. Many were killed at the Nueces River in 1862, and others terrorized for refusing to swear allegiance to the Confederacy.

We still have a real monument standing in Comfort, Texas—the Treue der Union—where the flag has flown at half-staff since 1866. It remembers those who stayed true when the mob demanded betrayal.

Texas history isn’t just secession and surrender. It’s also resistance, conscience, and blood paid for the principle that democracy belongs to the people.

Michelle, what those of us outside of Texas contribute besides donate funds to Texas Democratic politicians? Any suggestion would be welcome.

Thanks for providing the link. I have downloaded the postcards. However, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. Is there a link to people to send them to or am I overlooking something? Is there something special I should do since I live out of state? Just let me know and I will follow up as soon as possible.

Thanks for asking. I have no clue, but I’m going to ask around and find out, and I’ll get an answer for you. I know that sometimes there are letter writing or postcard writing campaigns that take place outside of Texas, to Texans, but I’m not sure who does them. I’ll get back to you.
