His wife is even worse. Her ties to Russia…. It just keeps getting worse.

I almost forgot about that.

I don't believe Huffines has a guilty conscience. He's pulling the "Christian" card on buying Zorro just like all the Christo-fascist, white supremacists do when it serves their purposes. He's grotesque.

Michelle, I can’t wait to see what New Mexico finds out about Zorro Ranch.

If we get out the vote to get Democratic Party Candidates elected. 🙏🏼 Sarah Eckhardt will win! I’m really tired of wealthy corrupt characters, getting elected to run our state of Texas.

Could you please send out a corrected version of this column with the word "conscience" spelled correctly in the headline? I'd like to share it on social media but as a lifelong editor cannot bring myself to do so with such an unfortunate misspelling in the headline. Thank you.

OMG 🤦🏻‍♀️

His primary victory was surprising to me. Like Paxton he seems to have a lot of baggage. Different from Paxton but nonetheless still a head-shaking victory.

Any chance we can get a debate in this one or any races? Apparently Paxton may agree to one.

OMG. Huffines is claiming that he is going to turn the ranch into a "Christian Retreat."

Huffines, Paul Pressler, and Rick Owsley (my former youth pastor): Evangelical predators all!

Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez wrote a series on the Zorro Ranch that is chilling and brave. She grew up down the road from the ranch, and has background from locals, and visuals on evidence in the surrounding countryside. AVR received threats as a result of this reporting, and has left the country. She reported in detail about the timeline since the Huffines bought the ranch, including their attempts to hide their ownership, and extensive excavations on the property after taking possession. She reports on the half-assed work of the so-called NM "Truth Commission" and their searches of the property which were controlled by the Huffines. She also reports on Mary Elizabeth Huffines' ties to Russia, and places her with the other known Russian assets in Epstein's organization. Quite alarming that these are the people now in control of the State of Texas public funds.

Aren't Huffines and his wife the weird looking pair who look like a Botox job gone wrong with them looking like each other?

Thanks, Michelle! Just seeing his photo is maddening! Shared on bsky.

Never trust a wealthy dude with a weak jaw. Middleton and Creighton: same.

I was thinking the same thing.

Love Sarah Eckhardt. She needs a more visible campaign playing up Huffines’ sordid past and present antics. The other Texas progressive candidates should highlight her campaign to bring awareness. They need to help her get out there in front of Texans, in my opinion. Play up the whole slate of candidates. To know her is to love her, so Texas needs to get to know her.
