I am going to try and make it to the Arlington hearing on Monday. This is so 'deja vu' to the Tarrant County redistricting hearings. My feed is showing people in other states being surprised that Trump and Texas Republicans coordinate. Talarico is doing yeoman's work getting the word out about the dire straits we are in here in Texas.

It wasn't until Talarico's Rogan interview that others started realizing how deep the Trump/Texas Republican entanglements go. Talarico also did a good job getting across the Christian Nationalist angle here in Texas too. People from other states haven't quite picked up on that yet.

Our political reporting is so messed up. It does not inform citizens of the material information they need to vote in their own interest. National political reporting just keeps the same D's in disarry and Trump saying outrageous things narrative. Democrats from other states have apparently been working under the assumption that all this autocratic garbage coming out of Texas is the will of Texas voters. I hope we can pierce that bubble because it would really help if National Democrats got on the stick and worked to win in every single Red state.

Anyway - fantastic reporting as usual. Thanks, Michelle.

So true. I definitely think other states have an automatic assumption that most of us are MAGAS. I'm glad that at least this special session is shining a spotlight on our legislature and their willingness to win at any costs.

Thank you Michelle, for another hard days work. We’re lucky you’re putting this out for us, so we can keep up.

I’m going to the Town Hall in Austin with Beto,Castro, and Talarico with Jasmine Crockett, Greg Casar and Gene Wu among others….but notably absent is Colin Allred’s name.

Allred doesn’t seem to be playing team ball. What is up with him?

💙💙 Lucky. This is the only time I’ve ever wished I lived in Austin. It should be an amazing rally. I’ll be watching the live stream.

Allred has complete dropped from the news cycle since Talarico’s Rogan interview. A good sign for a potential primary race.

Well, as you saw on tape, it was a great rally, full of energy and resolve. From Gina Hinojosa to Beto himself, our democrats showed true Texas grit!💪

If they leave, it’ll be after this week of hearings. There are still no maps yet.

speaking of political innovation...........ever notice how we are always reacting....today its redistricting...yesterday it was flood warning

something we can get well ahead of ....health care....Bernie and Venus Williams post a HC advsio as to why she is returning to the tour because w/o getting tour HC....aka a group plane, she is exposed to the vagaries of the market

now mutltiply that x millions........

here in TC we have what,,,,,,,50k waiters and bartenders.......

i have suggested to 2 administrations that we simply create a flyer to go in the area where all those notices are put up....to advise server et al how they are eligible of o'care subsidies .......

Crystal told me to drop dead....Allison 1.0 was too inept to do anything.....

but imagine provide a valuable service to our constituents..,,,,,,WOW

There’s a difference between reacting and being reactionary. Republicans are more reactionary, but right now we’re reacting to a hostile fascist takeover and the crisis of a mass fatality incident.

I have an article about healthcare planned, but it really does feel like we’re in crisis at the moment. At least for the next week.

not complaining about ur coverage......but big pic ...R's then Tea Party then MAGA made their bones on issues with a long gestation period.......

john mccain held up his hand and we thought ACA was good for all times...now its threatened again and we have laid no scaffolding to build up support for D angle on HC

i would amend that: i don't consider any of them to be republican whether they call themselves that....they are 100% MAGA.......chew on that and choke MAGA

So the maps are invisible, the people are disposable, and Chair Vasut is out here cosplaying as a fascist stage manager, cutting mics like he’s auditioning for a job at Fox News. Meanwhile, Texans drove across the state, skipped work, found childcare, showed up early, and were met with "Thanks for playing, now go home."

Everything really is bigger in Texas. The lies. The arrogance. The fear of letting Black and brown Texans speak on their own damn future.

And what did Democrats do? They stayed. They listened. They opened a second room and said, "If the Capitol won’t hear you, we will." That isn’t just good optics. That’s moral clarity.

Isaiah Martin getting arrested for being too alive in a dying institution might be the most Texas thing of all. And if anyone catches Vasut trying to pass a bill that lets Trump draw maps from a golf cart in Scotland, please slap it out of his hands.

We don’t need polite resistance. We need holy chaos. We need court records full of names who did not sit down and shut up.

Thank you for calling it out, Michelle. Now let’s all get louder.

Nina Perales is one sharp cookie and I hope her testimony goes viral. Of course the MAGAS (all except one) had no questions in a truly defenseless strategy for redistricting. I hope the spotlight is on Texas for this issue as well as the other issues that this extra session is supposed to be addressing. Is there no MAGA left that hasn't sold their soul to Trump?
