Michelle pretty much covered it all. I hope our Democratic candidates campaign hard on this issue. I think it will turn the tide for many Republican voters too. This camel's back cannot hold too many more straws like this.

There is no benefit to having data centers here. They just take our resources and don't provide any economic benefit and only a couple low paying jobs swapping out broken computer parts. Even for people using AI, it doesn't matter if the data center is here or in another state. So if data center companies want to build here, it only makes sense economically for them to cover all costs and maybe even pay us for the benefit of being here. If they don't agree then go somewhere else.

Techno feudalism is taking over Texas with the help of Greg Abbott and Republicans in the legislature. While Oracle builds its massive, tax payer subsidized data center in Abilene, they have laid off over 30,000 employees (including many in Austin) due to "AI restructuring." CEO Larry Ellison (net worth $250B) is also expanding his control over media and will soon be the owner of CNN and CBS.

Basically these companies are accepting bribes to help them come here! No or low tax rates only help the billionaire class who own the company. The citizens foot the bill. I wouldn’t be surprised if the companies come ask for a tip!

Republicans policy all the way! Let the little people pay the freight for corporation benefits. What would happen if no homeowners paid their electric bills in August? Not advocating, just sayin’.

What would happen is you would be cut off totally and likely have a reconnection fee. We need to get this to the voters!!!!
