1. Agree completely about Wendy Davis. I was extremely underwhelmed with her. I felt like she was a candidate built by out of state liberals who didn't understand the political landscape of Texas. I think she was authentic yet oddly passive. I met her once and was quite surprised that she didn't have that outgoing, glad-handing persona of a politician.

2. We need to believe Texas is ready to turn Blue, because we have plenty of proof Republicans, including Trump, think it could turn Blue any minute. Look how hard Republicans are ratcheting every trick they can think of to suppress, rig and propagandize their way into keeping Democrats from voting.

3. Agree there is no point in trying to be "Republican Lite". When Texas voters see that, they think "might as well just take my Republican candidate straight up". Trying as a Democrat to mimic Republicans allows Republicans to call us "flip-floppers". As long as a Democratic candidate is an authentic product of their location and can communicate and empathize with more conservative voters, they'll be fine. People hate someone pretending to be something they aren't. [Unless of course, that person is Donald Trump.]

And this is where Democrats should capitalize on our traditional stock in trade of being for the little guy and the working people. There is a Venn Diagram overlap among both Democrats and Republicans in that they are being incredibly squeezed economically by Trump and his billionaire puppet-masters. Republicans trying to be populists are inauthentic. Democrats should be channeling our inner Woody Guthrie persona while dogging the hell out of Republicans for the harm they do to working people.

Finally, I really feel like Democrats need to be aggressive. Don't play it safe. Get in there and get in Abbott, Paxton and Patrick's faces. Force them to fight on our terms.

Yes, we need people to BELIEVE Texas will turn blue. I like that. Also, Wendy Davis has done a lot for Texas, so I try to be nice, but I’m not convinced she isn’t in the liberal DC mafia. 🤣

I cannot help but feel Texas is the key to solve this madness because the Supreme court may be on the verge of granting permanent minority rule to the republican party. We cannot afford to write off the south. Its so frustrating it had to take this extent for these idiots for realize they had to invest in the south where the electoral college will favor heavily and now we have to suffer for their bullshit. I dont think i will be able to run for office this cycle but its just hard to maintain a level of sanity with how things are fucked up and how fucking incompetent the democrats are until now.

Chin up. Now, the stakes are becoming clearer for even the most obtuse Democrat. You know Texans love a fight. And, we are known for going our own way. Texas Democrats aren't like DC Democrats. The lines are drawn. Now we see who steps up and fights. Never write off the American people.

the stakes are becoming clearer but the question is can they meet the moment? we have Erza Klein going around in podcasts alongside with Neera Tanden thinking they have to elect pro life-democrats to win red states. Somehow they think going conservative as democrats would win them voters.

Good question. Yeah, I know. Red states aren’t mirror images of MAGA and, frankly its a little insulting Ezra Klein seems to think we are. I think there is something grassroots happening in Red States. Out of state liberals, especially liberal pundits, aren’t going to be that relevant to what we are doing here in Texas. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri have a history of progressivism that isn’t being factored in.

It’s not over yet!

The problem has always been no infrastructure and not talking with voters why their vote matters! Beto did this in 2018 to every single county. But did we learn anything? Nope 2020 was same old same old and with Covid we listened to the DNC and didn’t knock on doors even though Texas was open, in the summer everything was fine and we could have been meeting in parks and knocking on doors with masks. But no. We listened to DC and loss all the infrastructure. Then 2022 was the first year after the 2021 cycle of voter suppression and redistricting. I was in the biggest swing CD in 2020, only to find that in 2021 we were in a new district with a special election where no Democrat ever knocked on the doors in Las Colinas, north of 183. If anyone had actually looked at the precinct data, you would see it all flipped in 2018 and new base of democratic voters were in North of 183 not south. Well no one has listened to me until now, when in 2025 we won the city council run off with democratic voters in the fucking north. Yeah, still no one believes me. The data does not lie. When you bring an actual message that resonates with voters, then they do get out and vote even if they haven’t before. So that is why re electing Kendall Scudder is so important. We must have 254 county strategy and we cannot just rely on the urban areas to vote. You have to run like you are 10 points behind in all your solid blue areas and get the base out. If you neglect them, they won’t vote. You can flip the suburbs when you talk with voters about what matters to them, listen to them, and find common ground. And you must go into rural areas whether they have a lot of voters or not. If you never show up, then they don’t believe you have their back.

he remains unchallenged by Alison Campolo or anyone at TCDP

these words, unchallenged, seep into the meme-o-sphere .............thanks TCDP for doing nothing to expose the lunacy

ur on ur own Tarrant County voters

"Another No Kings protest is scheduled for today. President Trump is making traffic better in our state by removing illegals - and the liberals just won't stand for that. So they're taking to the streets once again to make traffic worse.

The last No Kings protest proved to be ineffective. It turns out that a nationwide astroturfed day of getting in people's way (on their day off, no less) does not move the needle. So more money will be wasted by your least favorite people.

Of course, the event is sponsored by the usual suspects. The Communist Party USA, Young Communist League, Freedom Socialist Party, etc."
