Thank you for this. An excellent piece for me to send less informed friends.

Looks like I got an answer Andrew White son of Governor White has thrown his hat in the ring. I’m kind of surprised because didn’t he lose to Abbott already. I have no idea if he is progressive or good enough. Michelle do you know anything about him?

He also lost to Lupe Valdez. I’m willing to give him a shot. Honestly, I don’t remember him from 2018.

Im not sure if he has gotten more progressive. Now that you reminded me who he lost to.

Talarico is the smartest most cool-headed lawmaker I've seen in a long time. Love him!

“Remember, Texas isn’t a red state. We’re under-organized, under-enthusiastic, and non-voting. We can fix it, but we have to fix it together.” Yes! Michelle, this has been a big frustration! TOGETHER! You keep saying it and we need to listen!!! And take action!

And James Talarico is the real deal! I met him at a county dem. function sharing and discussing vouchers in 2024….impressed by his honesty and knowledge.

Thanks for more good news, Michelle. I'm really glad you addressed the 'Jesus' concerns regarding James. I think people who don't really know Texas don't really understand, by & large. Interesting about Left Reckoning too. Already shared! You did it again.... got me excited! Thanks xoxoo

i plead the fifth! i am guilty of liking left reckoning as some of my leadership members had gone onto interviews with left reckoning with them. But i see your point as i am quite curious of something. I do wonder if the fifth court of appeals will rule against the gerrymandered maps. They did the same for Mississippi and Louisiana within their jurisdiction but can they do the same here?

I watched your video snippets of him throughout the legislative season this year. He is definitely the real deal.

Anyone who thinks Christians aren’t progressive hasn’t read the Gospels. Jesus was a dirty hippie; I will never let the Right tarnish the Savior by comparing Him to the Golden calf they’ve created.

I did my first ever phone bank for him in 2018. He's my age and went to the other high school across town here in Round Rock (both of our high schools are very modest), then to UT too (I didn't cross paths back then tho). His humble roots, outstanding character, calm demeanor, and spiritual influence were apparent to me since 2018.

He had no personal ambition or ego driving him, he went to where he was needed. Him going back to seminary and talking about leaving politics seemed to confirm it. My dad first met him in 2017/2018 while doing yard work. James was walking the neighborhood and lightheartedly offered to help, then they conversed for a good while. I remember when he walked and campaigned along 79, our local highway for 25 miles I think. I remember being impressed that someone my age could achieve so much already, but that's not what drove him. He looks just as at home sitting on a porch speaking as friends as he does in a Senate seat. In an age of 'in your face' politics, celeb influencers, yelling and dramatizing, he is the opposite. He's already won where it matters and at life and in his community, and the rest of the world is just now catching up to news of him. It's still surprising to me that he came out of our town, but I increasingly believe there is something special about this place. He makes you believe.
