Lone Star Left Endorses These Legislators For Re-Eelection
These are the legislators who earned another term.
All primary season, I’ve been doing long-form endorsements. I like taking the time to walk through a candidate’s background, their record, and why I think they’re the best option. Endorsements should mean something. But we’re down to the wire now.
There are only four days left until early voting starts, and I still have a lot of races to cover… new candidates, congressional re-elections, challengers, and statewide offices like Attorney General.
For the candidates below, I’m focusing on what I saw this last legislative session. Who was consistently progressive. Who was dependable when votes actually happened. Who proved they could be trusted when leadership pressure showed up. That was the bar.
These are still thoughtful endorsements. Just faster, and right on time. These are the good eggs.
Texas Senate.
There are a lot of discussions we have to have about the Democrats in the Senate, and maybe it’s not super-important right now, because they have been in such a minority, but most Senate Democrats lean further right than would make most of the Democratic base comfortable. But there is one progressive Democrat I am happy to get behind for re-election this year.
SD19 - Roland Gutierrez
Texas House.
The House is a different animal. I watched who showed up, who pushed back, who negotiated away votes, and who held the line when leadership pressure hit. Below are 20 House endorsements, based on what actually happened when it counted. Voting records tell you more than campaign mail ever will.
HD27 - Ron Reynolds
HD46 - Sheryl Cole
HD51 - Lulu Flores
HD77 - Vince Perez
HD95 - Nicole Collier
HD102 - Ana-Maria Ramos
HD103 - Rafael Anchia
HD104 - Jessica Gonzalez
HD105 - Terry Meza
HD107 - Linda Garcia
HD109 - Aicha Davis
HD114 - John Bryant
HD116 - Trey Martinez Fischer
HD123 - Diego Bernal
HD136 - John Bucy
HS137 - Gene Wu
HD139 - Charlene Ward-Johnson
HD145 - Christiana Morales
HD146 - Lauren Ashley Simmons
HD147 - Jolanda Jones
Early voting starts in a few days.
If you’ve followed along this primary season, you know I don’t hand these out casually. These aren’t friendship endorsements, and they’re not ideological purity tests either. They’re based on what I saw during the legislative session, who could be counted on, who couldn’t, and who actually treated the job as it matters to the people living outside the Capitol bubble.
No one agrees with any elected official 100% of the time. That isn’t the point. The point is whether, when it mattered, they moved things forward or made it easier to move them backward.
These are the candidates I trust to push in the right direction more often than not.
Make a plan, look up your ballot, and go vote.

I love our North Texas reps so so so much. Especially John Bryant and Ana Maria Ramos, Jessica Gonzales, and Anchia Davis, I could go on and on. They are the best. Why because even thought they aren’t in my house district they come and help us whenever I ask. They are amazing.
Thank you, Michelle!!! Already shared on Bsky!
