Agree local elections need more attention and City Councils that keep up with what the Gov, Lt. Gov and Attorney General are doing to take away local rights.
In Galveston, why Boike for mayor? His platform is 90% get rid of property taxes and only whisps of ideas beyond that. No idea how to do that or what to replace them with. See Galveston Daily News for today, 4-14, to see what he has to say when he's talking to the local newspaper.
Hi, I ran this by a few people in Galveston before publishing. To my understanding, he's a union guy, and that was the main driver, as I was told he was a good candidate for working people. Remember, these are recommendations, not endorsements.
Thanks, Michelle. Just shared on bsky. There's so much to research & do before each election, & so many of them this year. Thanks for making it somewhat easier. I've been a bit astounded by Dallas Morning News' flip in the op-ed section in recent weeks. At first I didn't believe them, lol.
Speaking of which have you seen Nic Anderson's cartoon on the op/ed page this morning? It's of Ken Paxton & it's hilarious!!!
DMN got the Irving district 6, 3, and mayor race right. ISD could go other way we have 4 amazing candidates, but I agree with Michelle. The D 3 races is fine. it is a heavy Muslim district between two Muslims and a Hindu. I will be surprised if Kejal can pull enough votes for a runoff, but we will see.
Please consider striking Kelly Hall from the list as mayoral candidate for Round Rock. He was declared ineligible based on residency. However, his name will remain on the ballot. BTW, Hall was a candidate for HD-19, but, though he dropped out to run as RR mayor, his named remained on the ballot for HD-19, and he actually won he primary. Here is info on the RR mayoral item -- https://www.kxan.com/news/local/round-rock/round-rock-mayoral-candidate-ruled-ineligible-but-name-stays-on-ballot/
Ever since I read that Steve Bannon was working to build MAGA from the ground up. I got busy. Very Busy vetting all my candidates. I even check my HOA candidates. 95% of the time they are GOP so I vote against the MAGA candidate if possible. So when NEISD has school board. You bet I know who to vote for. Even if they are not on my ballot. I’m a retired teacher and I care about public education. You bet I know who the better candidate will be in that district. ☺️

Thank you for including Galveston County!

That entire situation is really confusing.

And for Alamo Community Colleges too!
Thank you for putting Irving front and center!!!!
