I am weaping, Pat, and sick to my stomach. Worse, we know this has gone on for years with other issues. It's the same on a national level. Cronyism, criminal acts, perversion in personal lives, and "looking the other way", these are all practiced on a daily basis. Thankful to Michelle Davis for ferreting it out and making it real.
Great reporting although disturbing. Caldwell County Commissioner's Court voted unanimously yesterday for a resolution requesting that the legislature give counties the authority to regulate industrial sites such as data centers and nuclear reactors. The Republican county judge said Abbott should call a special session, but he probably knows that will never happen. Democrats need to refine their messaging and get in front of this issue because people are mad as hell.
Gina Hinojosa, Vicki Goodwin should get down to Caldwell county and up to the panhandle.I don't think Republicans quite understand how riled up rural Texans are. I sure hope we Democrats can be there to help them. They have every reason to be angry.
Please correct the spelling of Kendra’s name. It’s Kendra Seawright, not Seight. The citizens of Amarillo did not know about this project but Fermi was already under construction when this came to the city council to vote on the Water rights. The people of the Panhandle are not happy about this as we learned during Candidates Texas Together Panhandle Tour. This was the number one issue on people’s minds we spoke with. Now Mobeetie and Crowell are facing a similar situation with Data Centers being planned for these areas as well as the one in Claude Texas. This needs to stop. Thank you for addressing this issue.
This is the most outrageous thing they've tried!!! We MUST try to STOP this thing & then boot out all in official capacities who helped it happen!!! Just shared on bsky. Thank you, Michelle & Kendra Seawright!!!
These guys are going to get richer, and leave us with all the consequences. This deal is rotten.

This makes me want to weep.

Totally agree. There's a lot of anger towards Abbott and Patrick by many in the GOP. I'm unsure of they will vote dem or not vote at all.

Fixed. Yeah, these data centers are popping up everywhere and it’s quite alarming how fast it’s all happening.
