I like Chairman Scudder’s message on working class people. Most of us are working class people and we are all colors, all sexes, all genders. We are the taxpayers keeping Texas and the US afloat and Democrats should never loose sight of that. All of the issues presented affect the working class people.
MAGAS haven't been afraid to go as low as they can, so why should it be so controversial for Democrats to run on the platform that represents what we think would benefit the most people in this state? As long as the MAGAS are in control, they will run this state into the ground and sleep well at night.
When it comes to the oil and gas subsidies, we really have to have our messaging put together. I remember how the media cut and edited Hilary Clinton's comments about coal miners. One of the reasons we have lost votes in South Texas is because they are afraid of losing their jobs. If we do not have quality messaging that helps a 40 year old understand that they will have a quality paying job, regardless if it is in gas or solar, we will still lose.
I don't live in Texas but your state is a bellwether for the nation in ways good and bad. If the Texas Democrats can get their act together and develop real political gains and traction, that will be good for the entire country.
Mostly I do not like polls because the individual questions are not sufficiently defined. I understand you were comparing to the state party platform so it is a bit different. My thought on health care, how really would universal health care work for example. My granddaughter lives and works in another country that has a form of UHC, yet there seems to be two plans and some get seen sooner than others by doctors. I have not thoroughly examined her plan so I cannot say the difference, hence my thoughts about how it will take place.
The poll you gave did not provide enough options to be valid. For example, Yes on Universal Health Care, but does that mean "Medicare for All Who Want It" (I agree) or "Medicare For All" with no private insurance (I disagree). So it depends how you interpret my answer of "Yes" to Universal Health Care. Some of the other questions also did not have enough canned response to allow for a more nuanced answer to those questions. So it might be easy to over-interpret or misinterpret the results.
Thanks. You make a good point. I plan on using these results to formulate questions to ask candidates whom I will be writing about. I'll take that under consideration.

100% agree.
