Too bad we have Republican leadership that really doesn’t see any value in keeping someone alive with caregivers. I mean that in the worst way. When RFK Jr said people in Hospice are living too long I didn’t hear much clap back. I’m sure Trump et al would agree the elderly, the disabled, anyone that takes a worker out of the workforce, is living too long and caregiving should not be encouraged by more generous Social Security benefits. That is the thinking today and some say it out loud and others say it by looking at you blankly and saying that sounds like socialism (shudder).
Great read! I am about to get my first Social Security (SS) check as an adult! I say that because when I was 8-21; I got my Dad SS.
I always worried I would never see a dime of what I put in. I’m going to get it, I believe, Thanks to President Biden. They passed a bill that if I paid into TRS and SS. We should get both. Another reason; I thought I would never see a dime of it. I can only hope and pray that people VOTE. And VOTE for their self interest. 🙏🏼
