I am sorry to see so many calling the race for the U.S. Senate in TX racist or misogynistic. This is about defeating the Christian Nationalists. Chuck Todd says that Jasmine Crockett did really well. It is very difficult for a member of Congress to win statewide. She can run against Ted Cruz. Unite!
Thank you, this is giving me life today. For anyone that follows some of these “content creators” now you know. They aren’t experts or political insiders and often their “tea” is just dumb and wrong but they are in the business of getting clicks. I blame some of them for this race taking such a negative turn with all the gossip and flat out lies.
Color me shocked to see both Turner and Creuzot lose. While I like Junior, I value Chris Turner 's presence in the House. I would love to see more analysis of both of these races. Any more word on Nathan??? Sad Chelsey Hockett faces a runoff. She seems to be the only candidate sufficiently organized to even take on the selfish and non-communicative Lance Gooden.
I am happy about the results for Gina and Talarico but i must admit the south Texas results and Zeeshan races were disappointing to see. To me this still ties back to the fact that low voter turnout is a significant problem. only about 55k dems voted in the district Etienne Rosas was trying to run. 55K DEMS IN a district of A POPULATION 796,178 people. This should not be happening and to me it indicates Etenne Rosas has room to grow with the DSA chapters that are located in that district. I hope it energenized his base and i hope Rosas continues to get involved with the local chapters to help build a base and infrastructure there. Same goes to Zeeshan, Zeeshan is a great candidate to me and i had also had the pleasure of interviewing him. I did ask Zeeshan about how he was gonna be able to make up and arrange a field operation plan to address the low voter turnout. Zeeshan unfortunately was not able to answer that quite effectively and to me that indicated that he was gonna struggle as i didnt get any specific metrics on where he would focus on turning out voters. I hope he will also continue to be involved and get to work getting more progressives energized. 2026 election is not bad but the low voter turnout is still a significant problem they will have to continue to fight and that starts with finally removing these dragonic voter suppression laws. They also contribute to this.
I would hope so. Or at least to some degree rectify for the general election. Part of what we do in DSA after an election cycle is do a recruitment strategy for folks to join our group and participate in non-electoral activities that help foster relationships and allies with commmunity leaders, residents, and etc. We dont stop after an election. The election is the first task and i think thats what South Texas needs as from the data i am looking at and your analysis, it truly does appear too many people are disilluisioned or disconnected from our political system and thats something we have to work on. Doctor Rosas is an excellent candidate in the face of unfortunate circumstances. I hope Doctor Rosas will continue to organize in this district as there has to be more people like him in there.
Thank you, Michelle!!! I've been hoping to hear from you. It was wild, eh??? I'm mostly delighted but really sad about John Creuzot. Already shared to Bsky!
In Bexar County there is something brewing. I’m worried that it might not be good. Several of the incumbents lost their seats.
But 3 Black Judges lost because a Latino ran against them. One of those Black judges is really an Afro-Latino. I bet the voters didn’t know that. I call that reverse discrimination.
It’s Thursday night and I’m still upset. The 2 DA candidates in the runoff are not great either. CD35 was a shocker too. I am looked into Ms. Galindo and she is looking good to me. I didn’t even bother to get to know anything about her before my decision were made on who to vote on. She got the most votes with the least amount of money.
There have been allegations by people in her base that James Talarico is gay and that his supporters are racists. Their PACs have posted about the role of AIPAC and dark money. Apparently, Congresswoman Crockett accepted a paid trip to Israel by a pro-Israeli group and Talarico took some money from Miriam Adelson for legalized gambling to bring more funding into public schools. Of course, Colin Allred jumped on the bandwagon of an unverified Instagram social media post that accused Talarico in a private conversation of calling him a "mediocre Black man," when he was referring to the previous senate campaign. Too much grievance filled rants in social media, which turned off some voters. Now, we must unite to turn TX Blue once more.
I saw it on 3 YouTube channels last night that were covering the elections. It was disgusting, but what I noticed was: 1. Those commenters claimed to be Dem voters from Texas; 2. there were only 7 or 8 commenters posting the lies and hate that seem to deliberately promote the divisiveness, and 3. Those posts were constantly repeated by the algorithm and made it appear as though a lot more people were shared those views.
This crap is only going to get worse as the Rethuglicans fight to hold onto power by any and all means necessary.

I think she could beat Ted Cruz for sure.

100% We know where the flaws are that we have to fix for 2028.

Excellent endorsements, Michelle! Thank you for the research and analysis!
Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez must go - we will focus on them next round. For now, let’s get James Talarico to the US Senate!

Very disappointed in your comments about James. This is the problem with Dems They do not stick, together!
I love Talarico and endorsed him. Perhaps you misread.
What comments?
I cant find it now. It must have been from a reader. I thought it was the site. It was something about him ripping us off.
Sorry
Nope. He’s running a fantastic grassroots campaign.

The last three months on social media have been absolute hell.
