I think of myself as a moderate Democrat. While I support progressive ideals I also think it is essential

that we talk about how to pay for the programs we want. The legislature's emphasis on shifting the blame for high taxes to local governments so they don't have to pay and then shutting off local governments ability to raise revenue (taxes) is part of the problem. Feeding the paranoia about "wastefraudandabuse" (like it is all

one word) makes harder to address more efficiency which might actually free up some money to help

support programs that help. Marvin Zindler used to say "It costs a lot of money to be poor." He was right. I would like for every member of the legislature, while doing their current job, to gather the documentation necessary to meet the requirements for Medicaid or TANF or a housing voucher within one week--heck, take two weeks--and then try getting an appointment for your interview. No help

from staff allowed.

Royce West talked about that in the senate recently, appointments are taking more than a month currently.

I am curious how you all are gonna arrange it in time in for the 2026 elections. Again i am not expecting results as it takes a lot of time to make infrastructure but i worry that Kendall may be used as a scapegoat if the party doesnt perform in 2026. I hope he will be okay.

Texas is one of the largest states in the entire country. That massive geography is an enormous task to fulfill

In 2026:

-March, primaries

-June(ish), state convention

-November, election

I think we should know after the primaries the direction in which things are headed (better or worse). I hope so, anyway.

I sincerely wish the best for yall in Texas. You all have more urban and suburban centers to counter out the rural advantage but under gilberto leadership you werent able to take advantage of that.

Thanks for this article! As the Co Chair of Precinct Chair Recruitment and Training Committee (BCDP)

I ask everyone that I encounter, once I have gotten to know them “what precinct do you live in”. I have even shared your article from 2024 about the importance of a precinct chair. The County Party were excited to do better in 2024. We know how that turn out.

Someone made a TikTok about the importance of being a precinct chair. Unfortunately, because she used a 4 letter word that was considered not appropriate by the Communications Committee (f@ck) I was not able to use it on our website. I did share it on Nextdoor under Democrats United (Bexar County) I don’t think it has been removed.

In 2016, I had never heard of a precinct chair. By Feb.2018 I became one. My first goal was to find a Replacement for me. I found one. So, now I help the party find more though out Bexar County. I will now share this article. I’m praying someone (in Bexar County) sees your article and it gets me more Precinct Chairs. Our goal is to have at least 300 by Dec. 1! Right now, we need 60 more.

Bexar County really needs precinct chairs. Someone shared a map with me, with all of the R vs. D precinct chairs in the top 20 counties, and Bexar needs more D precinct chairs in red areas, but should have been blue. I'll share the map in an article soon.

People in RED areas have been afraid to be precinct chairs. I live in a red area. So I tell my family; if I die while knocking on doors. At least I died for a good cause. I would love to see that map that you have seen.

But they only knock on (D) doors. In theory, anyway.

In our area some of those “D” voters are really “R”. I once told them when I was at there door. Stop voting Democrat if you don’t want to be bothered by a Democrat at your door because you are Republican. 😁 I always ended with “Have a blessed Day!”
