Yesterday at the rally in Ft. Worth with Beto, Castro, Veasey and Alisa Simmons, Wu and many of the Democrats zoomed in from Chicago. The screaming, the hollering supporting them was very authentic and real. Maybe, I'm wishcasting, but Wu seemed a little emotional over the outpouring. He thanked everyone for the financial support and for the moral support, which he said has poured in from all over the country.
What I don't like about returning to Austin is the nation, but especially Texans, have hung a lot of their hopes on Texas Democrats. Abbott and Paxton are engaging in dominance theater, setting themselves up as the boss disciplining recalcitrant servants. They really fear that we could suceed in causing them to fail to please their lord and master.
I am so tired of Republicans setting up a version of this narrative and being able to rely on Democrats playing the assigned role of weaklings. It would really change the political landscape if we could make it to December.

Sometime in the days to come i will get and email from TCGOOPers letting me know what they think and what they are doing this week....i will know what is going on in MAGA world....If i poke and prod i can get a little news about TCDP...Breaking news folks.....Allison is attending meetings.....don't know which ones or why. What no one can demonstrate including earnest commentators here, or in FWST editorial pages is what TCDP is doing to attract one of the non-voters MD talks about.
Everyone seems to make excuses for TCDP and Allsion not being engaged in communications and PR with Tarrant Dems or interested parties.....I can not fathom why this is the pervasive attitude around here.
I am not by any means an expert, but it my understanding that PACs like Indivisible and Powered by People have certain rules about coordinating with candidates and in some situations with political parties. I have always assumed that the political party itself and a PAC are separate and independent entities who are operating in very different political spaces. Just through experience, I don't expect the party to be publicizing the work of PAC's.
In general, the Democrats in Texas and Tarrant County haven't been the most active or effective as far as I could see. My uninformed guess is this as a result of the party neglecting the entire state ever since it flipped Republican back in the 90's. My theory is since we had been a one-party Democratic state and all those Democrats turned into Republicans overnight, they converted the robust Democratic party apparatus to a Republican apparatus. Leaving us with no apparatus.
Someone should have been constructing a new Democratic Party apparatus, but they never did. I remember back in the time of GWB trying to connect with the NE Tarrant County Democrats. There was a lot of enthusiasm which was promptly squashed by the main county party and maybe state party.
The very nice lady who formed the group tried to get support from the head of Tarranty County Democrats. He told her flat out we weren't going to win, there was no point in trying and there wasn't any money anyway. And so, my guess is it has gone down from there.
We are building the plane while we are trying to fly it here. I'm going to find something useful to do and just go to work.
i recall Scudder or Ken Martin saying they would work to stop the siloing of indepedent orgs from the party org.......meaning they actually recognized the problem

The room went up in cheers for our reps that are fighting for us as they appeared on the screen. The best thing we can do besides give them money right now is call their office so that they can prove to Abbott they are working and their district is contacting them. This is really hard work. We can also talk to our neighbors about what this quorum break means!
