Finally. Not just Democrats, but Texas Democrats with spine, grit, and the holy fire of “we’re done kissing your corporate ring, Chuck.”

Talarico naming names like a prophet with tenure. Castro reminding folks healthcare is a right, not a privilege for the insured elite. And Beto, bless his post-punk soul, saying the quiet parts loud about Gaza. This wasn’t a rally. It was a sermon, a revolt, and a barbecue all rolled into one.

If this really is a coordinated slate, then light the incense and oil the boots—we might just witness a resurrection.

Texas ain't blue. It's burnished red with righteous anger, and these folks came swinging holy hammers.

Yesterday’s article taught me that the DNC has being playing puppet and probably why we haven’t been winning. You also wrote an article that made me realize that Texas has and will always have progressive Democrats. Not the elite Democratic Party people. When I started to hear that the elites were running the Party, I was confused. Then I started to see what the old leadership with lots of money and power. I would say “that is not the majority”. It’s just a few. Then I saw the NY Mayor race. How they are treating the winner. Mr. Mamdani, I’m still upset. He is being bullied by Democratic elites. 🤬. These elites should be donating money so that he wins the Mayor’s race. Just as we did in Bexar County. Michelle, you continue to educate me about politics. I’m relatively new, 11/9/2016 woke me up. I have been learning since the day after Hillary’s loss. This article was an eye opener as well.

PS When Congressman Talarico talked about his students, I could totally relate. He spoke of them saying “ganas” My Mom would say “querer es poder, ganas! “ where there's a will, there's a way, desire! I nearly cried. As a girl, I lived in 78205. They tell me it’s going through gentrification. I went to Luther Burbank. Our political idols were Dolores Huerta and Cesar Chavez. Mom even stopped buying grapes.

Thank you for the education.

The spirit in the room was strong, hopeful and fully intentional about winning in 2026. Now People are beyond shock or anger; they are working, organizing. It’s a beautiful thing to behold. The next day I saw the same thing at a San Antonio G.I. Forum Convention. Then at the Pride Parade. Eight months to the Texas Primary and then eight months after that to the Midterm. It’s going to go quickly. It’s time to accelerate.

I had the same feeling at the Fort Worth Fight Oligarchy night. Everyone there was united and standing strong. As someone raised Democrat but who turned away and became independent, this is what I’ve needed to see from the Dems to draw me back. I’m still not in with the DNC-but Texas is making me want to call myself a yellow dog again.

100% I watched that rally too. Same vibe, I think it was stronger at the San Antonio one. I really like where we’re headed.

Absolutely adore this one! All I can say is no more DC consultants! If Allred runs again he better do it differently which means knocking on doors and showing up. What we just saw in NY is amazing! Out out out with the DC establishment!! All of it, ya’ll know nothing about what it means to run in Texas! No more tv ads, it doesn’t work, stop taking money from us! Stop just paying attention to easy to flip districts! We have a whole state to flip and this is how we do it!!

I’m so enthusiastic about where the Texas Democratic Party is going. I’m encouraged with the Leadership from the Texas State Chair, Kendall Scudder. He is recognizing the importance of Amarillo and Lubbock and the organizing efforts we are involved in. I know you have said the Dems won’t be saved by the rural areas, however, Amarillo has over 250,000 people directly surrounding and including Amarillo. Lubbock County including Lubbock has over 320,000 people. These areas should never be discounted. Both areas are getting organized and thanks to the help of Chairman Scudder with convincing Senator Sanders to hold a rally in Amarillo. Although it was bittersweet the Senator could not make Amarillo, he did call into the rally and spoke. He was called into a senate briefing to be briefed regarding the Iranian bombing. He was doing his job and we should expect nothing less from our representatives. Drumpy was supposed to meet with the Iranian President yesterday. Instead, he bombed Iran a week before on the eve of Sanders tour. Coincidence? Idk, but there is a lot of chatter on social media the local, state and RNC GOP is getting nervous about our organizational growth in the Democratic Party in The Texas Panhandle and the South Plains. I’m all in for this fight.

as mysterious to us as we are to them:

"Hidalgo County Democratic Party Chair Richard Gonzales describes himself as a moderate Democrat and personally views the region’s makeup as conservative and family-based. The area’s long-time Democratic elected officials at all levels tend to be conservatives on issues ranging from fossil fuels to guns to abortion. No local elected officials spoke at the Sanders rally."

"Life in the Valley is largely a quiet existence, but near-daily ICE raids on local communities and workplaces have changed that. These aids have targeted businesses and construction sites from Brownsville to South Padre Island to McAllen. Notably, a bakery in Los Fresnos was targeted by ICE and HSI agents around mid-February, leading to multiple arrests including the owners. Pulgas once packed with people buying and selling goods including produce, antiques, and second-hand items are now oftentimes empty due to the fear of arrests by ICE agents."

"The Republican mayor of McAllen, Javier Villalobos, recently posted on Facebook that immigration enforcement is “negatively impacting all sectors of our economy” and called for the Trump administration to relax enforcement on all industries in need of labor."

"Some locals at the Friday rally, like Michael Dutcher, expressed deep concern that their way of life is being threatened under Trump’s second administration."

There needs to be a progressive movement in the valley. It needs to be young and it needs to be Hispanic-led.

Sadly shallow and uninformed. Time to pay attention to the facts. TDP was driven into deep debt by the prior 12 year reign of the last administration. If we don’t fix the finances you can forget everything else.
