Texas Tidbits: Geology, Abbott's Invasion, And Fighting Back
From fault lines to faulted leadership, Texans are done being played
How to go viral on social media:
It’s a straightforward formula, tested by my own real-world experience a few years ago on Twitter (before I quit). Say something wrong about geology. Yep, it’s as simple as that. Once, I said something wrong about the fault lines in Texas and had hundreds of middle-aged men in my comments with, “Erm, actually.”
One guy implied that I was so dumb as not to know the name and longitude of every fault line in Texas. So, I challenged him, “Could he name every congressperson and legislator in Texas?” Because I could. He thought that was insane, just like I thought knowing the name of every fault line in Texas was insane. I think he learned a valuable lesson that day.
The reason I’m sharing this story is that I let my confidence override my knowledge yesterday, mistakenly identifying TX03 as Pat Fallon when, in fact, Pat Fallon is TX04 and Keith Self is TX03. 🤦🏻♀️ So, sometimes I’m wrong about geology, and sometimes I get numbers wrong. But let me tell you, Pat Fallon is a Yankee Republican grifter, and so is Keith Self.
Self, who hails from Pennsylvania, once quoted Joseph Gobbles and doesn’t know the difference between a man and a woman. He’s the same as the rest of them. So, it is deeply regrettable that I mixed up one non-Texas grifter for another. Self, Fallon, Troy Nehls, Chip Roy, they’re all the same. They mosey on down to our state, put on a cowboy hat, like our culture is their costume, and each earns their printed certificate from the True Texas Project (whose leaders hail from California), so that they can run for office on “Real Texas Values™.”
Anyway, so I mixed up Self and Fallon yesterday in Meet The Candidates: Evan Hunt For Texas Congressional District 3, but I looked up the data, so everything else was correct. Sorry for the confusion.
Do you remember when Governor Greg Abbott spent nearly $200 million of our taxpayer dollars busing migrants to “blue cities?”
Since 2022, Abbott has bused over 100,000 immigrants to New York, Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC.
Chicago.
Now, Abbott is using our taxpayer dollars to send our National Guard up to Chicago because he is saying it isn’t safe from the immigrants HE sent up there.
Listen to what the Chicago mayor had to say:
He isn’t wrong.
People in Texas are struggling to buy food, and many have seen electricity bills soar in the last year. Our governor wastes all of the state’s money on billionaire handouts and political stunts while the people suffer.
The phrase I have seen all over social media this week is, “Texas has invaded Illinois.”
We are beyond hyperbole at this point, and it is Gregory “Satan” Abbott who has gotten us to this point. It gets worse.
Greg Abbott claimed the soldiers he was sending up there were elite…
Obviously, we don’t fat-shame, BODY POSITIVITY, but lots of people on the internet do. Especially one week after Pete Hegseth said, “No fatties in the military.” Okay, we all know that Texas is one of the top 10 most obese states, but how are these our elite soldiers?
The “Say NO In November” Movement.
Some grassroots activists are ready to fight the GOP now, rather than waiting for the Civil War to reach Texas, with the ballot resolutions in November. I did put out a ballot guide in August:
However, over the last month, I’ve been approached by multiple grassroots activists who are pushing “Voting NO” on EVERY resolution, as retaliation for all of the bullshit that Greg Abbott and other GOP members in Texas are doing.
It isn’t really about the fine print of each amendment. It’s about sending a message.
After years of corruption, cruelty, and culture-war garbage, people are done playing along with Greg Abbott’s political theater. Voting “NO” on everything is a protest vote, a middle finger to a government that keeps ignoring its own people. Grassroots organizers are tired of watching the GOP rewrite the Constitution piece by piece to funnel more power, money, and control to their donors and their buddies.
When folks say “Vote NO on all of it,” they’re saying that we don’t trust this process, we don’t trust this leadership, and we’re not giving them one more inch.
They know it won’t fix everything. But it’s one thing Texans still control, that little box next to “NO.”
I had some hesitancy about this movement, maybe I still do, especially as it pertains to Texas’ water situation, but listen to what Wichita County Democratic Party Chair Chelsea Streeter had to say:
Whether you decide to join this movement or not is entirely up to you, but know that it’s out there, and it’s growing fast. A lot of fed-up Democrats and independents see “Vote NO on Everything” as a rallying cry, a way to wake people up, mobilize voters next month, and remind the GOP that Texans are done being played. It’s not about apathy; it’s about flipping the script and sticking it to the man at the ballot box.
Get ready for two SPECIAL EPISODES of the Lone Star Left Podcast.
And trust me, you won’t want to miss these. This Sunday, I’ll be sitting down one-on-one with Joe Jaworski, candidate for Texas Attorney General, to talk about what real accountability would look like in the AG’s office after years of corruption and chaos. Then next Sunday, I’ll be doing the same with Nathan Johnson, the other Democrat in the race, and we’re going deep. No fluff, no talking points, just real policy questions about how they’ll actually govern if they win.
It’s going to be a big couple of weeks for Texas politics, and we’re cutting through the noise to get the answers that matter. Stay tuned.
Texans are waking up.
People are tired of being lied to, used, and made a punchline by the same corrupt crew in cowboy hats pretending to be patriots. Whether it’s in November, next year, or every day between now and then, we have a chance to push back, to vote smarter, organize harder, and demand better from the people who claim to represent us.
So stay loud, stay informed, and stay ready. The fight for Texas isn’t coming down the road someday. It’s happening right now.

Michelle, you are human! You are correcting yourself today so you are good. I agree they all act and look the same. ☺️
Again these carpet baggers piss me off.
Abbott and most of the GOP leadership are all about fraud and abuse.
Sounds like a good idea! Vote NO on all the amendments. 🤔
I can’t wait to listen to these two candidates.
I was actually thinking of voting No on everything for the reasons you mention.
