And I was sure we would have a primary in 94 and we don’t. So how on earth it is 101? Well what a mess. But it means a special election for GP in Dallas, Tarrant and Ellis, so you know me, CD 6 fucking let’s go! Well guess what all of Grand Prairie gonna get walked now. We have to take the opportunity to talk to Dems when we can and if this forces it, along with SD 9, then let’s fucking go! Cause those precincts over lap in Tarrant with 101. But they also overlap with CD 6 and SD 22 so let’s go! I am tired of dems not working every single election. So in Irving we are gonna go help our sister precincts in GP. And guess what, I heard again “Isn’t half of Irving in Tarrant County” oh fuck. Yeah sorry, I am out of them. Hey we have our own water, maybe we just secede.
We have been working on some local redistricting reforms for NYC city council districts as our city council is quite conservative despite being majority democratic. We have democrats that take advantage of our fusion voting laws and run a minor political political party line called the “conservative party” which is basically a minor right wing political party to the far republican party. A lot of new york republicans and CONSERVATIVE DEMS use that line for extra votes especially for swing districts. Its disgusting and hopefully the redistricting reform we are working in can finally elect true progressive/leftists
Like you. actually yes but he is more objective on his reporting now. His name is Peter Sterne. A former DSA member who now works for City and State of NY newspaper. He is similar in the sense where he is able to get a hold on internal politics related to NYC like you no matter how many people tries to hide it. I dont know how he does it but somehow he is able to get hold of information about internal DSA and democratic party politics that are usually hard to find for the average person.
I believe you in all. You all have the ability to hope for a better future and these articles allow people to see beyond some shitty binary people like to put that Texas is a “trumpy” state. I have faith you all will be able to pull this off and give some much needed hope to Texas democrats and voters.
I'm a LOTR person. I have been thinking in terms of LOTR analogies over the last decade as things have gone from bad to worse politically and economically. After reading this article, I'm thinking of the scene in the Return of the King movie as Gandalf strides across the hall toward Theoden King while Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and Eomer are silently wrestling and grappling with the king's men. We are fixing to do something similar as we go to work at the precinct level trying to out-register and out turn-out our Republican counter-parts.
Everyone is going to be caught up in the big picture and the fun stuff to argue about like Talarico v. Crockett. Meanwhile, the battle will be won in the trenches doing the hard things.
