DCDP says they have until the 16th to get candidates filed. I was not happy because several of my precinct chairs that we filed paperwork for back in September aren’t listed but oh, the absolute do nothing precinct chair who hasn’t showed up at a CEC meeting in two years, ignores all my texts and emails, has never shown up at a Beltline meeting, let alone an Irving Dem meeting, since I have been involved for the part two years, oh his application got filed on December 5, but my one of my hard working amazing PCs who filed on Sept 5 is not?🤦‍♀️ so we will wait until the 16th till I blow a gasket. Also the Republicans in Dallas don’t seem to have it together either, despite forcing us to their elections judges to hand counted ballots on March 3. It isn’t often that I get to use “better” in a sentence with the Tarrant County Republican Party, but even they aren’t dumb enough to go to hand counted ballots!

I am always excited about the GLO race but I do not know the Dem candidates. We had the perfect, knowledgeable, smart, and experienced in the field candidate last time in Jay Kleberg, and still voters must have voted straight red ticket for him to lose. In the Comptroller race, Michael Lange and his wife came to our small Democratic club. I think we all liked him. Sarah Echardt was somewhat of a surprise. I have liked her for some time.

I’m not happy there are 4 candidates in the Senate race. 🤬. I know who cares, 🤷🏻‍♀️. I was just talking to a new Precinct Chair (he will be sworn in on Friday’s CEC meeting/Holiday party). He mentioned that we Democratic people need to support WHOEVER wins the primary. I told him I always do. Take the mayors race in our City. They (a few precinct chairs) were so upset we supported one instead of the other in the run off when it is non partisan BUT Republicans had made it partisan and we decided to support the Democratic leaning candidate! Well we lost a few precinct chairs. 🤦🏽‍♀️. But we won the mayor’s race. I’m dedicated to getting out the vote so that Democratic Party candidates win in November. (Since 2018-embarrassing enough).

We have had a similar progression in my city. Our City Council and Mayor races were nonpartisan and you did not even discuss which party anyone supported but a couple of years ago the GOP Chair decided to make it an issue and encouraged known party members to support a slate. Funny thing, two of those left out were also GOP and did not endorse a party but policies. We actually won that one!
