I do not like Morning Joe, Sam I am and my distaste has only grown stronger over the years. Maybe Kendall Scudder's decision to appear on their program was to possibly reach more moderates, and at least he didn't sound like a moderate other than being incredibly polite. He's been the best thing to happen to Texas in a very long while, so let's not disappoint and work on lighting a fire under all the apathetic people out there.
Thank you for the Morning Joe clip. Last year, I used to DVR it and I no longer do. I have pretty much left mainstream media. So I am usually running a day behind. Unless you and a few others give me the information day to day.
Finally! A Texas Democrat with a spine and a mic. Scudder didn’t just show up—he called the sermon and flipped the pulpit. Linking deadly floods to political negligence? That’s not just messaging, that’s prophetic rebuke.
While centrists keep trying to win by whispering, this man roared. And the roar carried truth: the disillusioned aren’t apathetic—they’re fed up with crumbs dressed up as policy.
Texas doesn’t need another polite press release. It needs a movement. A resurrection. A radical re-centering of people over politics.
And maybe—just maybe—that's what we’re finally seeing.
Kudos and all that,,,,but as the only statewide elected Dem with some money shouldn't he do more"
i suggest hiring roving bands of people picketing Walmarts...with a sign........Trump raised these prices
Especially in places with little to no Democratic presence....FT. Stockton Walmart serves about half of west Texas.....imagine if pissed off voters are reminded why they are pissed off , every day
i fear Kendoll will simply give speechs to the faithful....Beto gives one hell of a speech. He lost. Bigly.
Kendall is leaving no stone unturned and he and I are 100% aligned on the grass roots energy. That being said, you and I always disagree a little bit, but on next Wednesday, July 16 at 7pm in Irving, Colin Allred will be doing his third free event in a week. He will be the special speaker at our launch of Beltline Area Dems. https://www.northtexasdemocrats.com/beltline.
We are recruiting precinct chairs all along the I 35 corridor desert that is a treasure trove of democrats from Irving to Euless to Mansfield. Colin is listening to grassroots organizing and knows he has to run a different campaign so I invite everyone to come and talk to him. He isn’t afraid and he knows he needs to help build infrastructure and that we have to do it together. I am not saying you have to vote for him but he is showing up, and that means something especially in Irving which is going to severely impacted by redistricting of CD 33. Our AAPI vote is already silenced in CD 6 and CD 24. So the fact that Colin is showing up means something.
Girl. You already know my thoughts on that. I asked in the event if someone would ask Allred if he would vote to continue sending weapons to Israel, and Marti deleted my comment. 🤦🏻♀️
For a complete turnaround, he would need to: align himself with the TDP platform, end his alliance with AIPAC, and cut ties with the centerist-establishment. Seems like a lofty ask. But I'll hold back any judgment on his willingness to change for a few months.
For Texas Democrats, these should be non-negotiable (for the Texas Senate seat): universal healthcare, expanding the Supreme Court, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, and an end to America funding foreign wars of terror (including Israel). Just my two cents.
Overall I tend to agree. Healthcare has become a big issue. I would like to have someone share a vision of what Medicare for all would really look like for the everyday person. I can compare with the British system because I have a close relative living and working there and it has its difficulties along with its bright spots.
Figures say over a million if you are talking Medicaid. And yes it has not been good in TC is my understanding. All I know for Dallas is I believe there are monthly PCT meetings and last year some money was distributed for those who wrote some sort of application
Yes having people without coverage is a scourge on our society. There is a vision in blanket coverage of everyone but actually seeing how it is implemented is critical.
what is a pct chair without resources to contact the thousands of consituents:? no one ever explains that.............
maybe Dallas resources them. We here in TC do not....we try to recruit em and then we leave em to their own devices..In my pct my pct chair own devices is never to contact anyone in 8+ years
i don't know why this is so hard to get people to understand...at least my county gives u NO as in N....O....resources to be pct chair
about as useful an exercise at using the thigh master
what would an unresourced chair do?........pay for, collate and send out 2000 postcards. $1ea ...blockwalk 2000 home, with ur own made up literature ....or maybe buy a phone list and sit at home after kids in bed and call number after hang up number
every corner of the state...grasssroots? are u sure that's a thing.......i get $3 begging letters all the time from ken but no mention of a grassroots anything.

Let the megachurch of mediocrity tremble. Amen.

we have squandered that issue by ignoring the ME expansion denied by Abott in the wealthiest place in USA........and the feds pay 90%
so in fact the cuts won't be that noticable in Texas

if u read the fine print...the work requirement apply mostly to the ME population...which we have none
and most penalties don't hit till after mid terms April 1, 2027.....
some rural hospitals may take a hit and abbott already talking about remimbursing them
my point: not as potent of an issue as ME itself, which is now verbotten in a climate of Medicaid cutbacks....
way to go Texas leadership....leaving 300K + without insurane and never speaking to it in 2018,2020, 2022, 2024
once a potent issue....for chris sake Oklahoma has it, our Dem leadership squandered ME as an issue that afftected alot more than guns or pro-choice
Thousands of people in Texas die each year without access to healthcare and prescription drugs, I can’t imagine it’s worse than that.

I am so done with the old guard. They never do anything else except bitch. So run for precinct chair in September.

I love, love, love this!
