Julie Johnson is the current Democratic CD32 Representative (Colin Allred flipped that seat in 2018 from Jeff Sessions, who the changed his registration to some ranch he owns and now is the CD17 Representative). CD32 for gerrymandering and instead of staying and fighting or moving to CD24, which holds most of her former HD115 house seat she opted for CD33, where Marc Veasy is the current democratic representative. But CD33 was gerrymandered and lost Tarrant County (where Marc lives) and it became a Dallas only precinct, he dropped out. In that race two candidates had already filed (one who always does, and the second Zeeshan Havez that Michelle endorsed.) So on the last day of filing, Jasmine jumped into the senate race, Colin dropped out of the senate race, and ran in CD 33 and Julie dropped her re election bid in CD32 and opted for the safe Dem seat on CD33. But this district is not the centrist type district that Julie and Colin had before. It is a solid Dem, 72% Latino, with a substantial Black and Muslim population.
OHMY! That is a lot. I would need a map with overlays to visualize all that information. If they are running as Democratic why are they voting with Republicans. Is that what their voting constituency want? Or are they not paying attention? Like, I feel, with Cuellar and Gonzales? Thanks for the information.
I thought the Governor withdrew as a candidate or lost in the primary. Apparently Plattner has a lot of charisma but maybe voters should have done a bit more vetting, though we know sometimes GOP makes up incidents as well.
