Hooray our Irving story made #3!!! Your work is amazing. And yes, agree with your comment on CD 33. I disagree on our AG race though. Pretty sure Joe Jaworski can win the primary with over 50%. Agree on Gina definitely. I am not happy with DC Democrats, especially James Carville coming into the Senate race. Old white male DC consultants need to retire. Stop milking our state for money!

Michelle--You have done your RESEARCH! Thank you for all the legwork and brainwork!! You're a national treasure!

Michelle, this post gives me hope. I was bummed about the DNC not releasing its postmortem about the 2024 election; however, after reading this, Texas doesn’t need the DNC.

Also, I hear David Hogg is helping Kristian Carranza. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 she wins for sure. I was happy to see that.

Ohhhh, I know what the postmortem says (total speculation). Harris' pandering to Conservatives and refusal to take a harder stance against Israel did us in. And that's why Ken Martin won't release it, because it proves progressives right.

I feel it still makes them look bad. 🤦🏽‍♀️

What are they hiding? (I feel there is more)

What is the difference between DNC and RNC? 😠

IDK, maybe Ken Martin won't stick around next time there's a chair election. But we'll see how he does. He needs to send money to Texas.

" He needs to send money to Texas." Amen!

that's precisely the type of fucking attitude that will lead to democrats losing future elections. This isn't me being pessimistic its me literally addressing how they just freaking don't learn tbh. They keep behaving like they have the same level of control with democratic voters just like republican politicians do with their voters because the republicans are a cult. But it astonishes me how the democratic establishments behaves so similarly where they pretend like democratic voters will vote blue no matter what like Blue MAGA. it really makes me angry.

Thank you for the inspiration. My hope is that 2026 will see changes better for the everyday person. Behind hope is always clarity of purpose and willingness to work which I always do but our charge is to get those 4.5-5 active. My motto for years has been, Everybody can do something. It is never more true than now.

Hakuna matata has always been my favorite motto, but I’ve never had a personal one. That’s actually really cool that you do. Maybe I need a personal motto for 2026? Can I cuss in it? If yes, then maybe it can be, “mutherfuckin vote!” 😁

Whatever suits you! Actually instead of a new years resolution, which I never seriously made, a few years ago I adopted a word for the year and reminded myself of it regularly. I did not do so well on last year's word, patience, so I am deciding whether to repeat or get a new one!!!

Agreed. Everyone can do what they can, with what they have, from where they are. If so we have a real shot to slaying the Goliath that is the endlessly funded TX Repub party.

Yes that is another truism. With variations from Teddy Roosevelt, to Jimmy Carter, to Beto O'Rourke.

Thanks for another informative article. Looking forward to your endorsements. Will you please urge progressive candidates to clearly state their positions on various priorities on their website , as that helps them in distinguishing their candidacies and garnering support? Just stating that they will fight Trump and billionaires is not sufficient. Thoughts?

Michelle H. Davis's avatar

Yeah, I agree. They need to provide real substance and policy positions.

Cameron Rollwitz website is a great example of someone providing progressive policy, although he’s not in your area. https://cameronfortxsenate.com/

Out of curiosity. Do we have the exact number of precient chairs since the last update? Have we grown.

Lucy Frost's avatar

I can't speak for other counties. Travis County -- admittedly the bluest county in the state -- has added scores of precinct chairs recently, thx to the Chair & staff who've made that a priority and have worked tirelessly.

Will add that, as a Precinct Chair, if someone from my precinct contacts me and says they want to help, I'm over the moon.

So contact your county party, find out whether there's a precinct chair and if there is, get in touch with them. If not, consider signing up for the role, even if it's only temporarily.

For those of us fighting the authoritarian takeover, the Democratic Party -- with all its imperfections -- is the only ship that's realistically viable to get us out of this mess.

Many of us are out to reform & improve the Dem Party from the inside out. I invite all Patriots to be a part of that.
