I’m really getting tired of the blame being directed at “red states”. A state doesn’t vote-PEOPLE vote and then we all share in whatever policies the majority voted for. But blaming everyone in any red state is just another division in a time we need to be uniting.
I’m also good and sick of all the comments that blue states should just succeed and leave the red states to their fate. I’m fighting as hard as I can every day for the entire US! But it seems those in blue states don’t believe Texas or other states that went red in terms of electoral college votes deserve the same.
Sorry, I’m venting! But I’m tired of division-the Republicans play that game-we don’t need to join them.
The total death toll (including adults) was at 70 a few hours ago. 11 of the little girls from the camp are still missing but the total number missing is 51…the little campers are getting the majority of the press but this is devastating even more families beyond them. 💔
Yes I’m angry (have been all along) about cuts made by DOGE & Pete Hegseth’s decision to stop sharing microwave satellite weather info…but right now it’s time to love and support OUR families in OUR state without asking who they voted for.
As someone from a blue state i sincerely apologize on behalf on him. This is not representative of every democrat that lives in blue states. I cant express how frustrated i am with this statement because this implies that The DNC and the democratic party didnt behave like that they didnt abandon funding and fighting for red states. The only reason why these states have the capacity to do what they want is because they are so gerrymandered, suppressed, and so difficult to even gain electoral power that it results into this shit. If Obama and the DNC at the time didnt decide to abandon the 50 state strategy into "winnable races" we wouldnt be here in the first place. This is the result of the democratic party in decades failing to fund Red states and Purple states that desperately needed to fund their operations to maintain even a blue presence in these states.
Examples i can bring is Montana which is a red state had their maps not gerrymandered thanks to investment into the Montana Supreme court races. That allowed them to break their republican supermajority and blocked so much of the extreme policies that Texas is facing. So did the state of Wisconsin where funding into the Wisconsin state party allowed them to break their gerrymandering and gain more seats. Shit like this takes time and decades but this fucking democratic party abandoned it for short term gain. Jesus, we have to suffer because these idiots just keep making so many mistakes because of their foolish overconfidence and narcists nature. I cant express how people expect us to remain positive when we have to deal with decades of incompetence and consultant class thinking they knew better to predict people's hard. And now look, Look how we all are facing the consequences.
There’s a special place in the monastery latrine for people who use the corpses of children as kindling for their Twitter clapbacks.
Twenty-eight babies. Twenty-eight lives. And your first instinct is to wag your righteous finger at a zip code? No, Ron. This ain’t justice. This is sanctimonious cosplay dressed up as commentary.
Texas didn’t deserve this. Those children sure as hell didn’t deserve this. And if your politics leave no room for mourning, you’re not fighting for liberation—you’re just addicted to feeling superior.
You don’t know Texas. You don’t know our grief. And you clearly don’t know the gospel, no matter how often you say “vote blue.”
This angry, “we are grieving”, “it’s too early to be pointing fingers” is the same damned argument that we hear after school shootings, every mass shooting!
Can we not hold our deep and sorrow filled feelings and have clear thoughts about solutions?
Having spent 18 years of my professional life working n Texas; I am keenly aware of the battles for voters rights and access.
If the Greg Abbotts and Ted Cruz’s won’t attend to the voter issues ( which clearly serve to keep their unrepentant, sorry, greedy, self-serving selves in office); it may be time for nationwide efforts (much like in the South for Civil Rights access for voting rights).
If Texas voters are being left out, perhaps it is time to organize volunteers from blue states (yes I am now a “blue”state voter) to swarm Texas and assist in mobilizing registrations and voter education.
Take this grieving period and transform it to productivity helping the disenfranchised use their voices.
Way too many Democrats see red states as a political monolith and operate as if the entire electorate voted Republican. My attitude is that Democrats and independents in those states are being held hostage by the Plutocrat-White/Xhristian nationalist hydra. Blue state Dems would better serve non-GOPers in red states and the country as a whole by engaging in a clear campaign of the liberation of the hostages against the anti-American and anti-democracy cabal.
Also, can someone provide a link or links to legitimate local charities and government services to donate to help the victims and communities? I can pass them around my own network of non-Texas people.
I'm a paid subscriber to MeidasTouch and started a chat and attached your article. Told them that they needed to yell from the rooftops to fix it. We'll see if they got the message. He does need to apologize. If only he hadn't started it with "The voters of Texas..." Don't know about you, but I'm very sensitive when people lump all Texas voters together implying there are no Democrats here.
"ICE’s current annual budget is around $10 billion. Under the version of the bill that passed the Senate, the agency would receive an infusion of more than $100 billion through 2029: $45 billion for detention facilities, $46 billion for border wall operations in the U.S.-Mexico border and $14 billion for deportation operations. BlueSky (so mad, I apparently can’t type a whole comment here). This article finally got me to upgrade to paid. I should’ve done it sooner. You’re doing the Lord’s work down here. Thank you!

Officials in Kerr County, Texas — where 27 campers and counselors at a Christian summer camp were killed in catastrophic flooding — had discussed installing a flood warning system along the banks of the Guadalupe River, known as “Flash Flood Alley,” but it was rejected as too expensive.
Kerr County, home to around 50,000 people, had looked into installing sirens, river gauges and other modern communication tools along the waterway in 2017, but ultimately decided against it, the New York Times reported.

"Moser in 2017 again emphasized the need for a better warning system. “The big challenge, I think, the many times that we’ve met on this subject has been how do you get the information to the public…If we don’t get that information to the public in a timely way, then this whole thing is not worth it.” _WSJ
so of course they didn't vote for it in Comish Court
Moser- Republican then Tea Party then MAGA or at least MAGAish....there is no Republican party anymore so u run on that team , u are MAGA, like it or not...Moser retired in 21....but he still said what he said....

It’s okay to me angry at Abbott or Trump, it’s not okay to say children deserved this.
In no way, do I think that ANYONE deserved this! Hence my anger towards the mofos who are responsible this horrid occurrence!
Jake the Snake Tapper let Chip Roy off the hook with
'its too soon' to which i screamed at my friends........its too late for 95 people.
Chip grinned like he was handed a cookie
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
Yes, If you aren’t grieving for those children’s and families something must be wrong with you.
Yes, it’s not easy to register to vote.
Yes, Greg Abbott won with 25% of the votes. So that isn’t a mandate.
Yes, Texas is a highly gerrymandered State!
Ron Filipkowski Bless your Heart, he obviously has not learned much about Texas My Texas. 🤦🏽♀️
Michelle, Thanks for what you do for Texas. This has been a Momma Bear Moment. 🙏🏼

Ron got so much blowback he deleted his comment from Twitter and BlueSky as he should have.
Good. Now he needs to apologize.

I had to fight back the same against several people. We fight. But it is like with two hand tied behind our back, with no weapons.
the gestapo is coming..soon
