Wow! Ugh. I think most Ds are looking for a bold move. Something that takes some Texas-sized cajones and I think this would do it. But that’s easy for me to say. It’s a big personal sacrifice for all them. Ugh (again).

National should use that ActBlue money they’re always cringing around for, and support the Texas walk out.

It’s the only way that it can be done. They can’t personally afford to pay the fines.

Come on Hakeem- “waiting for the time of our own choosing”- Jeffries! Now’s the time and this is the place!

I don’t think Texas Democrats in the legislature can break the quorum without DNC support. The rubber is meeting the road-it’s time for the DNC to prove if they are or are not of any worth to TX. Meanwhile we keep trying to register & convince the 2024 non-voters to get involved!

I was pondering just today...why are R's such assholes?...then i read this x post from Lisa Murkowski

'A few hours ago, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck off the Alaska Peninsula, just south of Sand Point. Local residents and summer visitors alike were able to evacuate thanks to federal tsunami advisories relayed through local public broadcasting stations."

then i went back to wondering why are R's such assholes

on a related note: " Experiencing financial strife is a nightmare of many Americans, but it appears to be a looming reality for Texans, according to a just-released WalletHub study ranking Texas the No. 1 most "financially distressed" state in America."

This would be an opportunity for Texas legislator Democrats like Talarico to make a big, public issue out of how Republicans are tyrannizing citizens. They are not allowing Texans to have a real voice at a time they are cramming down unpopular policies like vouchers.

For the national stage, other Democrats should offer the same public issue. Trump is unpopular and his policies are not only unpopular they are truly harmful. If we can wrest Texas from his control, we can take back Congress and restore functioning checks on the power Republicans are hell-bent on giving him. (Let's see if Allred capitalizes on this. 🙄)

Our backs are to the wall. We are going to have to fight our way out. Texans are not unfamiliar with this situation.

Thank you for the rundown today on redistricting.

I have a question, because I loved your post about Talarico, Castro and Beto, and how we hope they cooperate and don’t all run for Senator.

What do you think about Jasmine Crockett, and the rumbles I hear about her running for senate?

Is it possible that these candidates- all of them excellent- can cooperate and divvy up between them the LtGov/Gov/Senate races and provide for us a unified slate of progressives?

🙏🤞🤷‍♀️

I floated the idea of Crockett for Senate last year and got a lot of pushback from the left and the middle. I like the idea and think she would be amazing if that's what she decides to do. It would make it even harder for me to pick a favorite, though.

What kind of progressive fool doesn’t like Jasmine Crockett? She’s one of the few spitting truth in DC, and I love her frank Texas proud demeanor and accent, and her flawless improvisational speaking style.

What’s not to love?🤦🏻‍♀️

Not to say they don't love her, the argument has been to keep her in Congress or whether she could win a statewide race.
