We're a business friendly, not worker friendly state. This poverty affects rural Texas more than urban Texas I feel. I think we need to be blunt and call ourselves poor, but politicians hide that poverty through slogans of country pride, etc. Most Texas associations lookout for the businesses interests, not worker interests (TX restaurant association, homebuilders associations, etc.). Luckily there's been increased unionization and group voicing, but more is needed.

Definitely. Texas has been unfriendly toward unions and that has to change.

Unions should be energized...thanks to Biden....but in FTW and Tarrant the local Dem party has little to no interaction with them.....we have GM, UP, BNSF, Lockheed, Bell and trade unions. Our Chair spent a whole hour at a Labor Day event sponsored by Labor....that is up from 0 hours the last few years. I call on Union leaders or local leaders in Tarrant to run for County Chair. Control a $350,000 annual budget and spend on messaging and not on drapes.
