Interesting rumor about re-districting the entire state now. Republicans must be worried. They know they screwed the pooch with vouchers. Of course, they never change course when confronted with voter displeasure. First, they try to bamboozle us with BS. If that doesn't work, they undertake to silence us so they work their will unimpeded.

If true that Abbott is going to try and ram through an off-year re-districting, then he has been consulting with the Republican lobby/law firm that helped Tim O'Hare redraw the Tarrant County precinct maps to save the commissioners court as R. I think they are all well-aware this boondoggle will lose in court, but they don't care. They are playing for time. They just want to have the maps in place for 2026 while the case winds its way through court. And, you never know, the Supremes could actually rule in their favor.

I am still very angry about the focused way my Republican Tarrant County commissioner looked us all in the eye at the meeting with a very hostile manner and told us how the 5th cir. was going to back their play, so we might as well get our minds right. It was my firm belief as I read the vibes of the room that his bully-boy move was going over like a lead balloon.

When Republicans are attacking in a way that seems nonsensical, it isn't. They are protecting a real vulnerability. That means politically attacking that vulnerability really hard. Maybe the national party can't seem to figure that out, but I know Texas Democrats will.

Thanks for all you do. I'm in this fight, win or lose. I'm kind of old and fat, but I can still do some things.

I hope Abbott doesn't try to pull that stunt, but it would be Tim O'Hare who gave him the idea, or the rumors were started by someone who knows what O'Hare is doing. However, I heard it from someone in Austin.

Tomorrow is the big day at Tarrant County Commissioners Court. I'm not counting on Republicans to change their minds, but hopefully we can stop them in the courts.

Republicans get sued for bullshit they do all the time. The same company gerrymandered in Galveston; they were sued, and the maps were deemed unconstitutional. I don't know which courts. I imagine they go to the district, then circuit. And we're in the 5th Circuit, but they still rule against Republican crap all the time.

I understand but the problem is even if the district court rules and a 3 panel 5th circuit court rules against this, the republicans will just simply abuse the en banc appeal courts to have all of the republican judges in the circuit court to rule against you. They have done this so many times in the past. They abused the en banc(full slate of all judges in the circuit) to gain favorable rulings.

Michelle with all due respect this is precisely what i am talking about. At the end of the day this is the consequences of not having a party chair that was not able to build significant political presence for a decade in Texas. As much as I appreciate things have steered to a much more progressive texas it still doesnt change the fact that you are dealing with every card stacked on you. This is essentially the consequences of the complacency that Texas democrats had. and yall are paying the price sadly.

I donтАЩt disagree with that. And it sucks. IтАЩm an optimist, though and the only way to go is forward. And if it all crumbles? #Revolution

I am not blaming you please dont intrepret it as such. I blame the democratic establishment and gilberto hinojosa. They took all the communities in Texas for granted and thought they court moderate republicans to compensate for that.

We canтАЩt do that again. And I promise to chastise anyone who does.

All power to you and Texas. I sincerely pray that if a god exists in this world that they are not cruel enough that they cant make a path for you and Texas democrats. I lost faith in god a long time ago but i just wish that if he exists or she that will create a strong miracle for you all.
