Al Green just reminded the entire country what backbone looks like—and five Texas Democrats reminded us why the word “Democrat” on a ballot means exactly nothing without accountability behind it. These weren’t swing-district survival votes. These were safe-seat betrayals. Voting to bury impeachment after an unauthorized act of war isn’t moderation—it’s complicity dressed up in donor-friendly lipstick.

Progressivism means principles, not passivity. We’re not asking them to be radicals—we’re asking them to remember they have a spine. And if they don’t? We’ll lend them a primary challenger who does.

Fletcher is a real disappointment. One of her major campaign organizers is an old friend of mine. Lisa has to be upset about this. Cuellar and Gonzalez are wastes of space ànd néed to be removed.

Betrayal is too nice a term. Treachery, calculated and selfish. Disloyal, to the extent of violating their oath of office. Cowardice, their campaign bravery was theater. Worse, it is an outright assault on their constituents. All because they serve their personal interests and arrogantly assume we won’t call them on it. Or, will we? It’s also an indicator of the flabby, smarmy behavior that Jeffries calls leadership.
