Gromer Jeffers in the DMN today reported on the Talarico event in Dallas. He said it was an overflow crowd. That is accurate, but reporting the fact that Talarico basically filled the venue twice would have been more informative about the enthusiasm he generated in Allred's backyard.

I attended my local Democratic club meeting last night where Terry Virts spoke. His theory of the case seems to be that he can appeal to moderate Republicans. I just don't think that is going to work. If it would work, Colin Allred would have (Allready?) done it. When you run against a Texas Republican, it doesn't matter how conservative-friendly you read, Texas Republicans are going to demonize you as one of those godless Democrats who probably pals around with AOC or some such.

So, I think an unabashed Democrat who understands and has a plan to confront Republicans' attempts to define him is the way. One of the things good preachers have is the drive to convert people, including those uninterested in being converted. (Have you heard the good news?Democrats are not monsters.)

Republicans who are right and truly fed up with Texas Republicans' Christian Nationalism and Trump cronyism will respect Talarico for having and sticking with his convictions, even if they disagree on some things. It will be hard for the sincere fundamentalists/evangelicals to argue that Paxton is a better example of Christianity than Talarico. Republicans never try to find a good candidate or policy, they just do whatever they want and then maliciously turn the public against the Democrats. Talaricio could make that hard for them.

Sorry I missed the NetDems meeting but I was at the CEC in Ellis County. I am running for SDEC for CD 6 since our committeewoman was gerrymandered out. I took our SD 22 candidate to the meeting and she and a the new Ennis club chair are going to be a force!! So I probably will be spending more time in Mansfield and Arlington.

Thanks, Michelle. You gave me hope for a blue wave. And what does "woke" really mean? So tired of hearing that word from the republicans.

Woke, means not being ignorant to the injustices of America. At least, that’s what I think.

This is why i cant stand the current democratic party because there are a lot of idiots such as Elissa Slotkin, Jon Tester, Thomas Suzzoi and etc that just say the party has gone “woke and weak” these idiots have reinforced a republican narrative that doesnt make seem sense and reinforced the notion that the electorate is conservative and reinforced that acknowledging racism “aka” woke is a losing strategy and we cant combat it

Elissa Slotkin is the worst, her stupid economic plan pissed me off so much, I almost published an article about it, but then scrapped it… twice. She’s awful.

Then, I’m getting all of these emails for Mallory McMorrow from the same PAC who stuck their nose in Texas’ last primary, and pushed Allred. While, I’ve liked McMorrow, it’s make me super skeptical of her, especially knowing a progressive like Abdul El-Sayed is in the race. But I don’t know the Michigan landscape. It feels like the establishment has their hooks in them.

You are correct. Mallory Mcmorrow is not progressive because she is not able to fundraise effectively in comparison to Abdul El Sayed. I am in an organization where we had in person interview with Abdul El Sayed. According to some investigations she is also trying to contact AIPAC to receive more funding and she reportedly had her campaign manager write a “outstanding paper on her stance on israel” in order to court their support. I can promise that Mallory Mcmorrow will turn out like Elissa Slotkin. She is not gonna lean on the populist rhetoric because the heavy amount of donors she is courting

Well, that’s disappointing. This PAC, is ran by a Texas person, whose name I forgot, but he’s a problem obviously. It’s annoying because they did it to Texas.

I must stress that this is not an insult of her character. But unfortunately this is a reality of her inability to be more effective in grassroots donations and she is trying to compensate for that through corporate donors to make up for it

That’s unfortunate.

To best describe the definition given. It basically means the acknowledgement of the existence of systematic racism within our institutions. But unfortunately the republican party have used it as a dog whistle when they even struggle to define it themselves as a replacement to words in the past when slavery was legal that i will not mention in this comment section. The republicans use the term Woke as a derogatory term or an insult to dominate the democratic party in narrative which unfortunately they fell for.

Again from your lips (thoughts/writing/typing) to Gods ears. I would love the person who spent less in a Democratic Party race to one in a big way. I want money out of elections. 🙏🏼

Yeah campaigns are expensive. I did saw an article saying in order for Texas to become a competitive state you would nearly need 1 billion dollars worth of money to invest to make it competitive

-TCU Refuses to Fire Pro-Assassination Professors

-Call to Action - Help Lower Your Taxes!

-You Need to Act

We have had time to mourn for Charlie. But it's time to act. It's what he would want. Charlie was a man of action. No one worked harder than he did to build the MAGA movement and save our country. You should be mad.....

-----------these are the headline from Tarrant County GOP Party

these are Tarrant County Dem headline in same time period:

"We're in the homestretch ...

While Tarrant's own Texas Rangers head into the end of their season hoping for a playoff run, WE TOO are in the homestretch leading up to this Special Election and hoping we don't have a playoff ........."

the rest reads like an Amtrak schedule.

---------------------------------------------------

i ask u, who are u going go out and campaign for?

we are outgunned, mismatched, underperforming and what's tragic is that TCDP, the Chair and the CEC doesn't know how bad they are.

i am sure u are sick of my comments but..........BLUE TEXAS RUNS THRU TARRANT COUNTY.......we are going to lose it for u, not out of demographics or pol shennnigans but because we simply don't do anything to sell Dems and Democracy to anyone who doesn't already vote or is a party insider. TCDP is characterized by laziness and incompetency in equal proportions
