Phelan said FW Republicans are telling him they are either going to not vote or vote for a Democrat. I want to know what Phelan's reply to them was. Did he validate that? Did he encourage them to vote for Republicans? Or did he encourage them to split their ticket? I am nervous about Republicans voting for Talarico and Rosenthal and then for Abbott and Patrick.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some Republicans split the ticket, but I think it’ll be more with down ballot Republicans. Especially depending on the district. More than anything, I think a good number of them will stay home.
I was a republican, born in Texas to a Republican Mom and Democrat dad. I was republican until Trump was nominated! I can spot a conman easily, especially one as blatant as Trump!
Now I’m a geek who actually reads the party agendas and may never be a republican again! They have lost Texas by going against what their constituents want.
I am always amazed at how scared and prone to fear Republicans are. Hearing that woman saying "Eeets scary if Talerico wins" just blows my mind. They keep citing some apocalypse that will supposedly occur if a Democrat wins. Said disaster never comes but they keep going back to their sad "Happy" place of being afraid. I really think they are addicted to fear.
On another note, have the negative sentiments from the Crockett-Talerico primary race died down enough for most black Democrats to vote for him? I understand the perspective of African-American voters to know why they may have some underlying trust issues voting for Talerico. I ultimately want Talerico to win so I just to have an idea how the post-primary dynamic is playing out for the general election.

I think for the most part they have died down. I can’t speak for any voting bloc, but reliable Democrats widely understand the assignment.
