I am going to assume Texas Senators are afraid of some sort of terrible retribution from Dan Patrick. We need to find out what his threat over them is and figure out how to protect them.

This is the kind of reporting that should be laminated and stapled to every Senate Democrat’s forehead.
We don’t need more statements. We need resistance. We don’t need more “concerns.” We need quorum breaks, megaphones, and civil disobedience if that’s what it takes. If the Senate won’t act, then they’re collaborators in red ink.
Thank you for saying it plain: this is a coordinated, strategic assault on democratic representation. And if Texas Dems can’t find their courage now, they’re forfeiting the right to run under that banner next time.

Michelle! Can you cover a bit more in regards to the Quorum rules? I am literally arguing with an Texan atm who litrally is saying he knows the law better, and Texas democrats would suffer a 1,000 dollar penalty a day so we shouldnt encourage them to break quorum. When i mentioned your reporting in regards to how the state senate can break quorum and he literally argues with me saying we shouldnt encourage it because of the penalties. Ironically he is also part of a group that is working on a pressure campaign for dems to break Quorum
It’s $500 per day and it only applies to the House, not the Senate. And they can’t use their campaign accounts. Senate rules and House rules are different because they’re two different bodies, both rule books can be googled.
Hell yeah CD 6! Guess they decided to sacrifice Jake and maybe even Brian Harrison’s hope of winning the district! It won’t happen maybe this year it will happen in 2028. We are building the infrastructure!

Is it good news about the senate if they won’t get on board? I’m annoyed that we haven’t been talking about this avenue for weeks already.
