I have a ton to say but let me summarize: Michelle, you are absolutely killing it! This is how a focused, energetic and unapologetic *strategic* modern coordinated campaign is formed. You are the center of the most dangerous (to the Reds) and likely successful political upheaval in the last three decades of Texas politics. You understand that a strategic foundation allows for interlocking tactical campaigning. Economical and highly effective force multipliers. We finally have a structure to compete on the battlefield the Reds have defined. Oh, and Virts? Nothing there. Quibbling centrist. Allred light but without the political experience. Lead on.

So, how do we get to those ears and minds to amplify your message? Formalize a structure for the primaries (not waiting for the general)? Keep the DNC from screwing it up again? Seems like a PAC?

sounds great....3 maybe 4 guys hold a meeting.....that's our transformation? where's the beef.....believe it or not Beto is old stichk......he just is.....the others i'll grant u but the money is alredy with allred

i will say it anew....350,000 Dems in Tarrant County most likely to be completely ignored by our leadership.......so unless we get an all star here we will likely sleep walk thru 2026. we do it all the time....NO TC, no blue state.....its 3 grade math.

My only complaint about Allred last cycle was the completely lack of grassroots strategy. Right after primary he should had getting signs out and working DFW and Houston and the rest blue cities hard to recruit volunteers to start organizing. But he didn’t. He did absolutely nothing except raise money and I couldn’t even see him until the Democratic Convention in Chicago and I know some of his people. He just wasn’t there. And then they waiting until Labor Day to really start and by then we had effectively lost. No one was talking to the base. And we didn’t knock on the base doors. If we did we would have won. The 1.5 million voters missing work the base in the blue cities.

God. Its shit like this tires me so much. Centrist is not that way because people seem don't think that the country is not as conservative as people think. The country has effectively become a country that gave up hope and cosign themselves to nihilism. You have no idea how many voters i spoke with in NYC when i volunteered when i mentioned that Mamdani was the only candidate that spoke for a ceasefire regarding Gaza and focused on the cost of living. People were crying in front of me because they felt like they couldn't vote in conscience as it wouldn't make a difference. People even said that they felt like their heart hardened so much where they didn't felt the political process was worth even participating to. This is why the democratic party keeps losing. Its because they cant separate themselves from their donor base and actually feel comfortable enough to say in front of their voters that they cant provide the economic populism they need. They are just too cowardly.

I want your opinion honestly. I am trying to fight but it feels like so hard to continue mustering the energy to continue. It just feels like i am fighting an uphill battle and i am debating whether i should leave the United States for my sake of my own sanity. Its hard to maintain the energy to fight when we have so many obstacles preventing us from doing the things we need to really make actual change.

Over the last several election cycles, many Democrats have left Texas, even America. Some people get worked up about it, but I would say to everyone, you have to do what you feel is best for you, your family, and yourself. We definitely need people in this fight, but if you need to tag out, just know it will go on without you, and if it comes down to your safety or mental health, always put those first.

Abbott is not a popular governor, even in conservative circles. And with the lack of education funding and money going to rich kids in private schools, I believe he is vulnerable. I truly hope Talarico, Castro and Beto help create a positive all around ticket. A real force people could get behind. If all three are in the same primary, we lose. Because even if the final person wins in the general election, we potentionally are down another legislator and congressman. And any other strong potentials, Goodwin, Nuremberg, may not have the name recognition to pull it off themselves.

At this point, maybe they just need to draw straws.

Also, Beto should not run for Governor if he's polling badly, that would crush him if he lost. It would break our hearts, and it would break his more; no one wants to see that.

I think a lot of it has to do with Abbott's money, he can pull $100 million out of his ass in a few phone calls.

Allred is the ghost of centrism past, wandering through a Texas that’s waking up to a different gospel—one where the people aren’t props and “electability” doesn’t mean pre-disappointment baked into the platform.

Let the armadillo’s ass be a last resort. I want a candidate whose spine doesn’t fold like a Sunday bulletin when trans lives, Palestinian families, or working class dignity are on the line.

This isn’t a campaign cycle. This is an exorcism. And the machine knows it.

I sent a lot of cash in support of Colin last time. What a waste of resources and time. I like your idea of running a parallel campaign for Senator and Governor. Now how do you get through the primary season without destroying the party? Rich S, Octogenarian and Contrarian

I think Mamdani's campaign harkens back to a time and style when the Democrats had candidates who had fire and passion and actually spoke to the people. That's also when we were most politically effective and successful. I think for a variety of reasons, the party establishment started playing it safe and played into the hands of the consultants and operatives who pushed milquetoast-style campaigning.

From my non-Texas perspective, there seems to be a groundswell of progressive Democrats in Texas who are drawing a line in the sand - not just against the GOP but against the establishment Dems who keep running this failed "lets run on policy/the center/what's safe" approach. I think this is happening nationwide but I think the Texas progressives will lead the way. If there is anything I can do to help, I'm all for it.

i had to catch my breath...did we watch the same 817 podcasr...i didn't hear Alison say one sensible thing.

on why she quit: she started looking at her shoe laces and mumbled something

on her heroic idea to engage empower energize those 2 magical words " precinct chair' she did not utter a syllable about HOW she would engage, empower, or energize anyone

when 817 asked about hooking up with all the like minded orgs she didn't say the simplest thing like.....we will put a link on our website.......act as a broker, invite em all to supper....nope she mumbled more BS

she likes ken, you like ken, get a room

remember dear Readers.....Alison was chair just 2 years ago and nothing happened that she described above on her watch.

I am glad the 817 mods on the panel have chairs that function....is suspect they live in Fairmont.

I live in Tanglewood, and with 10,000 Beto signs never heard from the 2 pct chairs i had ......not a peep. I talked to other chairs over the last several years, they have been give NO RESOURCES to be effective........they are totally on their own. Alison did not say what she would do to resource them but she is giddy that they are them.

Bear with me.....817 and the 817 podcast? never heard of it until i was googling YESTERDAY about who the candidates were for TC Chair race next week. I didn't learn about 817 on any FB postings of the various gangs around the county....FYI TCDP website and FB don't function.

Everyone seems to think they are great , I think they are great. But no one knows they exist thanks to TCDP.

But yeah Alison, a ready answer to the question put to you by 817: put a link to all the like minded orgs on the TCDP website.

BTW Indivisble having massive phone bank today...u wouldn't know if ur get ur info from Alison or TCDP......i think its a kind of jealousy....they didn't inform about Hands Off or NO Kings.....but u can get invited to an Opal Lee dinner Last week....its rite there on the home page.

Alison is the Colin Alred of the TCDP....not seasoning well with age.

Even though I knew it was coming, I just shook my head and said “fuck”. I’m thinking exactly the way you are, Michelle. And I want a Senate candidate who is angry! Someone who will shove the GOP hypocrisy right down their throats. ALL the facts are on our side. Let’s stop pretending these people are human. They aren’t. They don’t deserve our respect, deference, or compassion. We have got to go to the mattresses.
