I feel so goddamn sick. McCaul used to be my rep before I finally got lumped back in with Doggett's district. He was awful but not the worst. Seems to me he wants to be among the worst, though.

And he’s like the richest person in Congress. Worth hundreds on millions…

Yeah, I sometimes call his office and effusively thank his staff. It's been nice to be heard. :)

Michelle, I saw the two articles you mentioned after I read your article and wondered what you thought. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I did get frustrated. I asked chat GPT what to do with a bully. They said: Fight back harder! Stand up for yourself! Remind them who they are messing with! So we must keep fighting. I’m also praying that Governor Abbott doesn’t listen to TACO!

Just a thought! ✌️

The old teachers warned us: fascism always arrives wrapped in law, order, and the flag.

It does not need your love—only your silence.

This is no time for “both sides.” No time for apathy. No time to let algorithms and exhaustion do the tyrant’s work.

If you are weary—rest briefly. Then rise. Every voice counts. Every body in the street counts. Every vote counts. The spell only holds if we believe we are powerless.

You are not.

We we’re Gerrymandered in 2021 because Beth VanDuyne knew Irving would never ever ever vote to elect her, so they packed the northern democrats in the city of Irving in CD 33 and put the rest of us in CD 6. They did the same thing with Mansfield and Arlington, packing the northern part into CD 33, which keeps Marc Veasey safe and protected so he doesn’t have to do anything. But when you F- around with redistricting on the county level and silence Mansfield again by packing them into a safe D district and putting the majority in a safe R, that looks just like CD 6, the pattern becomes clear. They want to silence us. But CD 6 is getting bluer, Mansfield and Irving are incredibly diverse. Beth has spent so much time of Fox News, she doesn’t actually know who lives in her district now. Our population has grown significantly since 2020. And now she has a lot of pissed off constituents who have $. Irving never forgets, we are going to make sure our Tarrant and Dallas County neighbors know just what she did to our City, just how badly she treated everyone.

And when we do that and run a candidate in CD 6 and we run them as a slate, we show our voters just how much the voucher hungry west texas billionaires want to silence us.

I think we can flip CD6, we just need a solid candidate willing to do the work

Has gerrymandering ever backfired for them?

Not yet. But how much pie is left? After this year’s disastrous legislative session, too?

Besides hating the governor with the white-hot heat of 1,000 suns, I'm not sure what to do. Make it 1,000,000 suns.

I've spent my entire adult life in Texas, and my entire adult life disenfranchised. And I am not at all young.

I am not gonna lie. This is very demoralizing because it connects back to how Texas democrats were complacent under Gilberto. I like what Kendall is doing but he should have been in power long before this debacle.

I don’t disagree. But we can only move forward.

My biggest hope right now is that Republicans decide they can’t gerrymander any further. Like I said, there’s only so much of the pie they can split up, and they’ve done it in Texas.

Its as i feared. The rumors regarding about the redistricting was right. They were right. They are litrally trying to gerrymander their way to permanent power goddamn it.

And we cant prevent cant we? This is incredibly unconstitutional but theres no way the courts will prevent this in Texas. They are too corrupt
