I have spent considerable time with both these candidates. Also this district used to be mine (before 3 rounds of gerrymandering in 5 years) but it is still my community. If Julie Johnson had decided to run in this district she would win hands down. That she decided on CD 33 still irks me and she knows it. So I will tell you there is only 1 person in this race that will represent the voters and not their own interests and that is Kevin. As we head into city council races both of which are in CD 24, we will make sure that our Non PAC backed candidates (yeah back to that Tim Dunn shit) and our democratic voters know who is the one who will represent their interests in DC. This district just like CD 6 has been languishing with do nothing republicans. I don’t have a vote, but if folks ask me about the race, I will not hold back. I already have to deal with a bunch of misinformation in Irving. And by the way, CD 6 will flip before CD 24 (if only because our returns will come in sooner, cause we only have 64 Dallas County precincts πŸ˜‰)

Thanks Liza, for confirming my choice of Kevin. I met Kevin at the same time I met Taylor. They are friends from working in the union together. That told me something. I value organization and steadiness. And I saw that in Kevin, just like I saw it in Taylor. Both Taylor and Kevin made it a point to speak to me even though I wasn't the shiniest object in the room that night. And I saw potential to be a real public servant in both these kids. TJ didn't come on my radar until I saw him at the party convention. I don't know if that is my fault or his, but Kevin got to me first.

I also imagine how Van Duyne will campaign against a Democrat in this race. I just feel like Kevin can thread that needle to bring along the disgruntled Republicans and swingy independents in this district. Maybe its the fact they both have long blond hair and cheerleader pasted on smiles, or the fact that Van Duyne just takes up space in Congress then poses at ribbon cuttings at home while saying "rah-rah" for Trump that makes me think we are going to see a replication of Taylor's race. TJ may have more negatives that Van Duyne can pound to drive down his favorables.

The other thing is, and this is not nothing, I just get the sense that the same ground game that powered Taylor's win will work better with Kevin than with TJ.

PS-Good to meet you in Bedford the other night.πŸ’™πŸ«

TJ has so much baggage including that he probably isn’t a Democrat (and you know I give lots and lots of grace about that). Kevin is the real deal, he is a genuinely good person, and will do the work to represent this district. Dallas will come out for Kevin. It was the Tarrant numbers that were low. So that Taylor coalition needs to come together.

I saw you drop this last night. I wanted to read it when I was not exhausted.

Michelle, will you please post a link to the article you wrote about the different types of Democrats. From Very Liberal to Conservative Democrats. I tried to find it. I need to share it with a friend (who is democrat) but was calling someone a β€œsocialist” in a derogatory manner. I told her that she needed to read your article would help her know what she is calling these people. I then proceeded to tell her. I’m Democrat Socialist and explained to her why. As we continue to talk … we both need to read it again. If I could just find a title; I could Google it. I could always find your other articles to share by knowing part of the title and your name. ☺️ Last night; I could not find the one I need. Thank you for all you do! It has helped me so much. πŸ™πŸΌ
