Tim, don't wait for the party to do something. This is on each one of us. Join other groups like League of Women Voters, Blue Horizon, etc. Travis County is the same way. Idk why, but I do know we need to kick it up if we are going to change anything in Texas. I'm reading Saving Democracy by David Pepper and I get his substack newsletters. Lots of ideas of what each of us can do.

they were giving me the same rap in 98 when the hired me to run the party in spite of the chair....they wanted to call is the Hays County Dem Club. unh?? ...I was new to politics. and told them it made no sense, brand wise, so I said "no can do". ...Simply stated the voters understand the 'Dem party' as an entity , affiliated with other Dem parties........and candidates will only run if affliated and hoepfully with support of the Dem Party.
what we need to do it get TCDP engaged in politics instead of what they are currently do (mystery to me) . i have advertised around for folks to run for Chair.
Like i saId, don't hire an attorneyr to run a sales and marketing campaign.
The TCDP home page has real promise...if you squint right you can see there is a deadline for filing for the primaries... click on it and its a sales pitch to attend some dog and pony show....with no mention of the filing date....0
Try it for yourself , let me know if you can find out the filing deadline for the Primary
BTW i offered to fund tables at La Gran Plaza, and Ridgmar.....offering HC enrollment advice during HC enrollment period...Aetna is in every Walmart floggin Medicare Advantage. Tons of Tarrant citizens have no idea what they are eligible for.
I say this for emphasis....I OFFERED this to GAYDEN....she told me to contact her 'Volunteer Coordinators' and NEVER EVER email her at the law frim again.
still waiting to hear back from the volunteer coordinators.
susan i did want to answer ur comments directly....of course what you say is spot on buttt........
every other large county in Texas is blue.....and have county wide leadership so they can marshall poltical and electoral resources. importanly they can command media coverage.
only Tarrant has not one County wide office holder except the Chair. TCDP can and should do that job. If the Chair or EC won't do it give the mike to a Constable or JP.

Wow, makes me so mad. It's like they are Republicans in Democrat clothing.
theyтАЩre not DINOтАЩs (save for their way of thinking).
they just donтАЩt care.
